Confused What say ye those who have experience with Josephine:

this is supposed to be Josephine--I had no blooms last year; this is it's third year and it has many...yay!...and I was so exited to finally see them, but, are they supposed to look like this?
Does the unusual center develop as the blooms mature or should it be more apparent when they first open?
Does it take a while for this plant to mature and do the characteristic Josephine thing or do I just have yet another mutant pink clematis Rolling my eyes. ?

Sorry dd, that's not Clematis Josephineâ„¢

I posted my picture of mine just a few posts up, those were the 2nd and 3rd blooms of the year. The unique center is apparent in mine.

Hi Clematis lovers, guess who this is. I just watered my garden and the Clematis are very nice, but the poor little Rebekka is still having a hard time. I am slowly figuring this site out, give me some time.

Hi Etelka! So glad you came here. Love your clem's.

I just turned on the irrigation system last night for the first time this year. We're 2" below in rainfall. No clem's blooming yet - spring was too cool.

Here's our Dr. Ruppel to add to the confusion:
Thumb of 2015-05-04/pirl/22317f

I doubt the clem in question could be Dr. Ruppel.

I checked our own database and, as usual, there are many variations in colors for Dr. Ruppel:

but only one, If there is more, It is considered a different hybrid
Dr. Ruppel can't have eight instead of six
Dr. Ruppel-There are 6 sepals (occasionally 7), which have ruffly edges, and they surround a light-colored center composed of stamens and pistils.
