So I left my trout planter outside to get a nice warm sun during daytime and colder weather at night. The result is beautiful😍the color of the leaves turned slightly reddish brown.

That looks great. We have a friend that collects McCoy Pottery vintage pots and containers, but only if she finds them at yard sales and thrift shops.

I have some "much used" McCoy pieces I got fm my Mom. Need to look & see if there is a name on my elephant planter.
Blessed are the Quilters for they are the Piecemakers.

Beautiful picture and it looks great on the dark solid background. Thumbs up

I've got many of those old McCoy pieces too. Most of them are only worth about 6-15 bucks. I know sooner or later I'll drill them. I'm just liking the concrete things I'm making a lot now, and thats the only thing thats slowed my hand to the drill on those other pieces. Smiling

Gigi, that really is beautiful. I bet they just loved that sunshine. I really love the planter.
I too have some pieces of McCoy from my mom, plus a few pieces that I have found at yard sales.

I agree those McCoy planters are beautiful Ric!

Bev & Lynn yes that trout planter is special and looks prettier with the plants too. And this time of the year, I bring my plants out on weekend to taste the morning sun.

David I did not drill on my trout, duck and any of my indoor planters but I water the plants lightly and wait for the soil to totally dry out before watering the plants again.

I'm always looking for containers and unusual ones at thrift stores. Went out with a friend this past weekend to do just that. It's getting to be disappointing though -- prices are going up in these stores. I picked up one small pot that was a little dirty; it was priced $5.99. I looked on the bottom and the original sticker price was $5.99. That's just plain daft.

I thought the critter behind the yellow pig (?) on the left part of the green covered shelf was a cat. Also a couple of other smaller items on the shelf look like cats. They are all black or otherwise dark colored.
