We ended up with 2" of rain the other day and the daylilies are loving it. Supposed to be 80 today but we are headed out to go north again for a week. The weather there will probably be about 5 degrees cooler.

They are calling for a high of 92F, so if it is the same as yesterday, it will be 95F at the house. I usually do all of my outside work before 10AM. Currently it is 61F.

95.4 here now. Heat index makes it 110. It sucks.

It was 72 this morning when we got up, however, 97% humidity....@flaflwrgrl I didn't stay out too long, but this was definitely 'air you can wear.'
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

I hear that Jean! They have us for 50% chance of rain late afternoon/evening. I'm not sure I want it after yesterday. We're still burning off the humidity from yesterdays rain. I think I like it hot & dry much better.

I've felt them both and hot and dry is better, not that it's good but it's better than humid. Being dry helps with the temperature in the house, too. With the air conditioner on, the temperature is set at 76F. I've never felt that and humid but I'll bet it would be sticky. 76F and dry is fine. (76 is the temperature at the thermostat, which is the coolest location in the house. I don't know what it is in the family room with the computer and the t.v. running. It is 80F upstairs so we turn the thermostat down to 74F when we go to bed.)

Yes, I agree. We also keep our thermostat set at 76. We have a personal weather station that displays the outdoor temp & humidity & the indoor temp. where you have the receiver located which for us is in the open concept LR/eatery/kitchen area & it always reads 78. But I will tell you we can sure feel the difference even inside when it's really humid outside. Blow drying my hair this morning seemed much hotter than when we have lower humidity & it takes a lot longer to dry it too. The A/C definitely has to work harder in humid conditions.

Our garden sensors already saying 93F, but if I view online it only says 79F, their sensors must be in a shady spot. Our forecast says up to 96F later.

I have experienced living in three countries, where one has 6 months of rain/6months of dry weather, humidity constant at 79% and higher, then another place were our summer is a brief one and a half months at the most, lovely temps at 72F-75F at that time, and winters at 6 months with coldest at -40C/-40F or lower. Then here in Cali where my location gets like 8 months of dry weather, humidity dismal. We did live before a bit more coastal, and temps has been much better, no need for AC..love the ocean breeze and sceneries. I'd say, I like the cooler temps better..but for my plants I really want just a good share of rain and dry weather..no perfect conditions really..just perfect challenges. Smiling

Jean I am dying here today! Sad I do not think you would be much more comfortable here. It is 104 on the patio now at noon and though the humidity is not high the heat feels oppressive. I suppose that is because we have had so many days of this over 100 weather. It never gets to cool off much at nights. The weather channel has raised the Friday and Saturday temps to 111F. That just flat scares me. Crying Crying Crying

Thank You! Tarev. Patio is now 106. I am shutting the computer down for a while and going to look for a cool spot which is NOT in front of a hot computer. Hilarious!
