You are all torturing me. All I have blooming is a bunch of plumeria. I did see one of my two large Vanda with another inflorescence. That will make the fourth time to bloom since April.

We had a very noisy thunderstorm yesterday, but no rain. Just now I got chased indoors by heavy sudden rain, but no thunder. As I was running for cover, I noticed Den crumenatum - the Thunderstorm Orchid - has blooms again! It really is living up to its billing very well, so far. The blooms are small and don't last more than a day or two, but they sure do come along often!

Nice one, Elaine!
I have been very busy carrying in my plants, the Epi oxypetalums are monsters! I am getting there, most of the Orchids still outside can use a few more cool nights.
I have some new blooms on my oldies. The Lc/ C Mini Purple 'Shibuya' opens a couple of nice blooms.
C. Tropical Pointer 'Cheetah' has another spike
Angraecum distichum started up
Bc/Rlc Angel Lace always flowers with a single bloom, probably courtesy of the digbyana in its parentage

So nice, that 'Shibuya' has a pretty shell-like lip. Always love the spotty 'Cheetah' but really, that Angreacum IS a plant that should be called an "orchid cactus". It's an orchid that actually looks like a cactus. Amazing. Any fragrance on that one?

Carol, considering the amount of Orchids I have, there just had to be something blooming in there.
It is getting ridiculous - I spent about 10 hours just carrying Cattleyas inside, looking them over, cleaning them up, carrying through the house upstairs into the greenhouse. I didn't realize I had that many Cattleyas!!
Oh, if you only knew, Ursula. It takes me a solid week to get everything done for over-wintering. I am doing my best to whittle the number of plants down. I have already decided, other than for a handful, I am ridding myself of the 100 or so bromeliads. That will help.
I just had a "heart-to-heart" chat with the contractor and told him we were quickly getting to a crisis of time. I have my huge potting/packaging cabinet that is in the garage, sitting squarely in the middle of where I build the temporary greenhouse to over-winter all my plumeria. Because of its size (it will take four men to move it from the garage to the solarium) we can't install the sliding door. We need the wide-open space to move that cabinet into the solarium. Which means we need to have the tile-work done within three weeks so that the cabinet can be moved. Oh, so many complications and so much work to still be done in a time-constrained situation. Woe is me.

Ursula and Ken, I feel for both of you. Ken because I have just done some remodeling and working with contractors can be so frustrating. Not all of them, we do have a great one but he is usually too busy to work us in. Ursula because I made an open porch off my second floor bedroom into a GH in our last home. Hauling 20" pots through the house and up and down stairs twice a year was rough. But, we loved waking up to the jungle each day.

Ken, sorry your construction project is not going as fast as you would like..fingers crossed that it all gets done soon!
Ursula...just love your 'Cheetah' and Angel lace is lovely!
Alice, so far I don't really mind moving my plants twice a year. Everything is cleaned up right now and it is a new start every Fall. My Fitbit "died" on me so I upgraded to the Apple Watch ( no, not the gold model ) and the exercise App on that thing would be smiling if it could right now.
I am clocking ca 4-5 miles everyday just walking up and down the steps into the yard and back. At my age that is good exercise.

Just fabulous color on Big George, there Jim. Little George is limping along sadly, but still alive. I'm hoping my new fert regime and better watering practice plus more diligent application of insecticide will help.
I have a Psychopsis like yours, too. Started with a baby plant from a give-away at Selby, and it has grown a big, new leaf each year, but each year it also seems to lose a leaf, so we are not gaining. I'm thinking it's somewhat futile for me to try to grow out baby plants in my rather harsh environment. I've done ok with bigger divisions but all the babies I've tried with really struggle.
