You are right Rosie, and if you still have friends there, don't give up, that is what I did.
Many of my friends from DG live in my area, so we can meet and share plants, we have been doing this for many years. Smiling

Many of my friends from DG left before I did. My membership is still good until August, but it's ween weeks since I've even peaked in over there and even longer since I've posted anything.

I don't even go back to check the bug forum. My friends moved over here one by one and we are one awesomely happy family again, and that was the point. To never lose each other. They held out for a while, but made the change seamlessly.

some things don't get missed when it comes to communicating .... some things are evidently more important than others. Last time I looked, communication was still an issue.

I got that message last summer. Told them to take my name off the list of members, but they've not done that. I've not pursued it. I'm just done with them.

HI ViolaAnn! LTNS Now that I don't live in Calgary anymore, it would be unlikely we'd see each other again, unless it's decent weather and I make a trip to Calgary when you visit. Crossing Fingers!
There are some of my friends that have not come over to any other site, so DG is the only place I'll see them. I would severely miss them if I didn't see them. Some of them don't accept going to multiple sites, so DG it is..... Shrug!

Maybe, but I think not. After a certain "age", some people find it difficult to accept change, and I can appreciate that. I does make me sad, but I can't (and won't try to) Make people accept change. It will be what it will be. As for me, I kept my subscription with DG simply because of my friends who are still there, AND because DG "forgave" me the subscription cost. I flat out couldn't afford it (I know, it's not much, but I still couldn't afford it at this time).

I should be getting that same message soon. My subscription runs out in October. I kept it for the same reason. But most old friends have stopped using DG, so time to let it go for good.

I have a quick question I won't ask over at DG but I am curious about. When this mess started I ventured out of the few boards I read to see if I could figure out what was happening. I stumbled across two threads in the general Parking Lot forum called "pull up a Chair" and "coffee and" after a while I realized some were posting on both, but some not, but they appeared to both basically be the same..does anyone know the back story behind two different but very similar ongoing threads?

There are a couple over on "Chair" that don't frequent "Coffee..........." I wondered that too, but post on both.

I did not go to either but once I read - somewhere - that one started as a discussion that was more of a blog for the person that started it and then it evolved to more of a general mix.

cant say I went to either of those myself. I really just went to the quilting forum. Its always been free, so I dropped my membership years ago, when they bombed the daylily forum.....but thats old news. I do miss my friends over there, I just havent been to DG, need to go check on them.

no idea what the back story might be, Teacup. Maybe there isn't one, and people created these two independently of each other, not knowing the other was, and some people got invited to join the other one, by a friend in common. Shrug!

I was on Pull up a Chair. It didn't move as fast as Coffee, but a great bunch of people on both forums. Some have moved on to FB and the rest have stayed at DG. Myself, I don't miss that DG at all. DG is here.
