We clearly have a worldwide forum here. Nice to see those blooms during our "off" season. I did get lucky and have six buds on Wild Acclaim. Five out today, one more maybe tomorrow.

I had just three blooms last month.

I always hope for at least one bloom in each month of the year but its not looking too good for December.

Thanks everyone.
Sakurahime,(which means cherry blossom in Japanese) is a hybrid that has been genetically altered....so I have been told.
It was much sought after a while ago but now most growers here have it.
It's a good grower and a mature plant can sometimes revert to some all white blooms.I have also had a bloom half white and half normal colour.
It is pretty.

Steve,

I have that Chichicostenango. Very interesting branch shape. Sometimes difficult to know where to take the cuttings. Grows well here. Love the blooms.

Doing a lot of EPI maintenance at the moment. Cleaning up dead branches, watching new growth and potting up 4 inch pots with cuttings into 8 inch hanging pots ready for next year.

So far have not taken new cuttings after the blooming season this year. Need to cut back the work load.

Other parts of the garden with gingers, costus, bamboos etc taking more time. Also having to repair fences to keep pigs out.

The pigs can do an amazing amount of damage in a night. We have wild boars around here. They rototilled my brothers lawn one night looking for grubs.

Thank you Linda ! I have several NOIDs, because three years ago there was a big flood in my city and my house and my garden were under 1 meter of water for at least 12 hours. Besides all the damage inside the house I lost a lot of plants and the remaining ones lost their tags.

Ceci, I can relate. Hurricane Matthew just did that for me. No floods, but lots of wind damage, broken pieces and lost greenhouse. Never a good time putting things back together.

Group hug Group hug to both of you as you continue recovering from these devastating events. I'd been begging for a greenhouse for years, but now I'm starting to get cold feet. Thumbs down Especially after learning about your disaster, Linda. I can't help thinking what if that had been me, instead? We did have some fierce winds and quite a bit of rain from that storm. Forturnately all of the trees that toppled over, fell away from any of the buildings. I still have plenty of time to think about it.

The weather has been very cool so far in Victoria, Australia. Only a few of my epis have even tried to flower as yet (mainly ackermannis) and they don't open fully. This one, Kevin is a new one for me, it's supposed to be basically orange tones but when it flowered it was dark red and hot pink. Pity it didn't open fully, maybe next year. Might end up as yet another NOID plant, but I do like the colours

Clown x Slightly sassy.( XL but one of my least eyecatching hybrids).

Liberty glow. Another plant I recently inherited. Still had the old name, Kathy, on the tag.
The hybridiser, the late Joyce Carr, changed the name many moons ago. XL and very pretty.

Wow Steve, what an amazing colour on that Liberty Glow.

So refreshing to see someone put a "u" in colour. Reminds me I'm British! Amazing what happens to the English language around the world.
