Me too Yan! I wish they would put a note that they were closing this year. I would snatch a few TPs that I wanted and temporarily plant them in pots until I prepare proper spots for them. Your Fragrant Jade is gorgeous! I am glad this one came through without damage.

Graycrna4u, your Lan Bao Shi is beautiful too!

I know, Karen. They have good price and good quality, can't find another better vendor for TPs.

They were the best for tree peonies, will certainly be missed.

Yan, your tree peonies are just gorgeous! I may have to find a 'Fragrant Jade' for my garden too.

Here is one more pic of 'Princess Chiffon'. We are supposed to be in the 80's for a couple of days and she will decline.
Sigh. If only they rebloomed.

Yep, love them both! Guess where I'm going Saturday?? One of the ladies in the Rocky Mountain Gardening forum just sent pics of tree peonies for sale at a nursery by her house! She says they keep a good selection for a few weeks so we're hitting an annual plant sale at the high school then the nursery! Fun, fun, fun! Here's a couple of pics she sent from last weekend.

Lucky you! Liz
We have nothing good around here, most the nursery don't carry TPs, even peony are few in between.

Nice Liz! I also wish we had such a nice collection of TP here. Happy shopping on Saturday!

Oh Wow, Liz! How can you resist the temptation not getting all of them? That lavender one looks so beautiful.

LG, Princess Chiffon is aptly named! It looks as regal, refine, and beautiful as a princess. Pink is my favorite color for flowers, esp. bright clear pink.

Yeah, it's going to be hard not bringing at least 1 of each home! I'll try to limit myself....

I have one of my tree peonies almost all the way open today. I have another that has a tight bud on it. The one with the bud I just got last year from Vermont Wildflower Farm and have already forgotten the name but should be yellow. Smiling

The white one I got a few years ago from Spring Hill. It had a name but I don't remember what it was. I think Sugar something. Shrug! Either way I love it. Smells great!!

Yep!! I had to really think last about what color I wanted in that spot because the house is light green and this spot faces the road so I wanted a bright color that popped. I'm hoping when they get taller they pop. Hilarious!

Went to O'Tooles Nursery today. First tree peony I noticed was the one that had this beautiful bloom! Shima-Nishiki, right? Didn't get it even though it was beautiful, I have a couple of tiny ones already.

So THIS was my haul! 3 TPs, Chojuraku (the lavender one, Karen!) Meikouhou (a double white) and Kokuyunishiki (red with some greenish edging) and 2 herbaceous--a coral they called Coral Beauty (we'll see what it matches when it blooms) and one labeled F. Koppius (a double red).

All of their Itohs are at the far right of the pic. I had all they offered but I was SO TEMPTED to take at least one of each home! My Itohs are barely nubs above ground and theirs were so healthy and had so many buds! TPs next to Itohs and around that corner then there were herbaceous, plus the table in the middle was full of herbaceous.

Pretty Itohs....
