Thanks for the positive comments Yan and Karen. These seedlings are just about all in unprotected places, just one is near the house. Every year seems to bring a crazy spring here. So it's survival of the fittest.
My last TP blooms for this season (sad time). I just bought this TP last month for $38. It was labeled orange and had a picture of Koukamon attached. You can see the blooms are not koukamon but beautiful nonetheless.
It is a lovely bloom, graycrna4u. I bought 3 tree peonies last weekend and the blooms should be completely open by now, I'll take a pic tomorrow morning. Posting my first blooms for the season! Does it count if they're potted and just purchased??!!
It's been so cold and overcast the last 2 days that they're still not open, though! Hopefully when I get back, they're on a shaded, protected porch because of the weather we're expecting tomorrow.
I plan to! While I'm in Texas I plan to drive a bit north, though, and visit Chotkowski Gardens in Arkansas. Hopefully I'll have some really pretty pictures to share when I get home!
Thank you!!! Annette,
Your TPs done for the season already? I guess your zone is a lot warmer than here.
My Japanese variety just started to bloom.
Shin Shichifukujin 新七福神 trying to open up
Thank you! Tracey.
Karen, your TPs will do the same for you too, just give it time. I had Shima Dajin for 5 years, each year it give me a couple more blooms.
That is good to know!
My latest aquisition is a Japanese tree peony:
Naniwani Nishiki ?
It would probably be better to try Chinese tree peonies here,
but this is what was available.
I will place a rose hut over it for winter.
