@MISSINGROSIE, Rosie ... I wish. It's brain chemistry. Not attitude. It's a different kind of work. All hard, painful work, but it can be done. One day at a time.

That is what it is speaking to...the chemistry may be what life has dealt...but
"it can be done "
"one day at a time"

That is the attitude part.

You may not realize it, but if you go back and read your various posts when you have described your mood or a particular challenge with your environment -- you have always expressed a sentiment of positivity that it will work its way out toward a good outcome. You and Katie do that all the time. That is positive attitude!

Well, my over stuffed household is having problems with some people getting along. My friends have a son who is schizo and he walks around talking to himself and gets loud at night, so we all have to remind him that people are sleeping and he needs to quiet down at times. His parents, my friends, are good at listening for him at night and even during the day if he gets loud. My nephew was trying to run the house and I had to put him in his place. He will own this place upon my death, but not before. I explained to him that until I die, I OWN this place and can do what I want with it, including selling it if I need to move away because of his mothers interference in my house. She posted this big thing on facebook about all the drama being dumped on her, but she is the on causing the drama by interfering with her son's life. He is 21, living with me and his girlfriend and their baby. My niece wants to control how they raise the baby and wants the girlfriend out of the picture. She says that her son and the baby can move back into her house but not the baby's mother. The baby's mother wants to move in with her mother for awhile and my nephew wants to find a place of their own. He does not work because he is Mr. Mom and takes care of laundry, the baby, and keeping their room picked up. She is working so she is not here that much. And me I just want everyone to keep in mind that, this is a 2 bedroom single wide trailer and we all have to have some concideration for each other.

Marti you got your hands full. Is the girlfriends mom able and willing to take care of the baby while both mom and dad work? That way, they can get their own place while the baby cared for by a family member. That is how many young folks do it as well as scrape the $$ together from both working to pay for childcare.

Pam... I get you, but you can remember them for tomorrow!

Wow, this new update for the ipad is throwing all sorts of words at me to choose from.. I should USE it because I am always having to go back and edit spelling.

I have a pintrest page with sayings like that. They really help me. I mean they are so true. Sometimes you just have to get the mind back on track. Of course getting my kids on track would do the same thing Whistling

Kids............hmmmmm................well, anymore I pick my battles. I even did that when they lived at home. Some things just weren't worth fighting over. So, that being said, when I pressed the issue on something, they knew it was important to ME, and they "usually" saw it my way. Green Grin!

Things that I know they don't really want to come to.............I just say "you don't have to stay all day, you don't have to come for the food, but can you PLEASE put in an appearance???" 99% of the time they do, but it helps immensely if the GF's are on my side, and they usually are. At times in my life I've felt like I was in a dark place, but for me, it never felt like I was buried, more like I was lost in that dark place without having any clue how to find my way back out. I needed someone/something to bring a light in and help me find my way out...or at least show me the way to get out. Once you're on the path, you feel like there's hope, even if it's a long journey back.

The problem is I don't know how much I trust the girlfriends mother. She works and uses drugs as does her younger daughter so I would not want to leave the baby alone with them. My nephew wants to get a place of their own and we have an apartment complex near us that bases the rent on what you earn. I have another friend who lives there, has no income and pays no rent at all and she has a nice 1 bedroom apartment. The problem is she does not want to live there and says that they lived with his mother for awhile so they should live with her mother for awhile. Sometimes she does not make any sense at all.

Yes. It changes the picture 100 percent.

It sounds like although you get frustrated, you are in charge and that is good.

I hope things resolve soon for that young family

Not exactly grumpy about this, but... we have relatives visiting from far and wide right now, which means getting together with all the local relatives quite freqouently as well. So, one couple that is visiting are vegans... tomorrow night we are having the whole fam damly at our house for pasties (a Yooper tradition), and my sister-in-law, who is closest to the vegan couple, asked them to bring their own food, but... I would be happy to cook something "vegan," but taking it to a whole different level they apparently insist on "certified organic" etc etc. And refused to drink the water in a restaurant today that wasn't bottled. We have a ton of fresh veggies right now, and our township water always passes all the tests such that it needs no treatment with chemicals... but, just not sure how to deal with this. Bad enough that I've been making pasties to the point that I don't care if I never see another one (and don't ask me to roll out another piecrust), and now I have to worry about this. Guess I'll just let things play out as they will... if my veggies aren't good enough, oh well. Shrug!
