Just sat in the closet with the two cats for a half hour tornado warning. With two tornadoes touching down in our area in the past week, we weren't taking any chances. Thankful that it looks like the worst of the weather has moved through.
Wow, do y'all get many tornadoes during winter, Hetty? I am glad you came through all this without damage. We are a cold 31F right now and headed down to 26F tomorrow morning. I guess you will be cooling down as well.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.

Thankful DH and myself are back home safe and sound following his eye surgery, and, looking forward to coming on the thread to announce it was a successful result
This is VERY unusual - it's all down to El Nino.
Other than one broken Adenium pot (the little stand it was on toppled over) I have no damage, I'm happy to say.

Hello Everyone
I am thankful that I was able to read these "thankful" posts this morning...great way to start a Sunday.
Outdoors we are having our first rain/snow ....no sticking I do not think. Now I am about to make pancakes as is our tradition with first snow.....keot it even after the babies grew up and moved out. <<< another thing I am thankful for!!

People try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved
Rosie, that's a great tradition. I love to hear about people's traditions. And I like your avatar. On DG, I never knew what you looked like. I realize it's probably not the most recent photo but, hey, my Cubits avatar has blue hair.

Thankful that the rumblings last night were only that and not a bad storm....really did not want to go out at 2am to unplug and disconnect the hot wire

I am really thankful that we didn't have a big earthquake last night. I mention this because January 17 is the anniversary of the great Northridge Earthquake. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
I am thankful the house pad level of my property drains well. For the first time since I have lived here, the rain came down so hard and heavy that I had standing water in the back yard. Within an hour, it was gone.
I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.
