I was a bloody mess, but I'll be o.k. Here's the gory story. I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. As I was lowering myself on to the toilet I fell forward and hit my nose on the shower. There was blood everywhere plus I was shivering from the cold. I had a hard time getting up because I always have a hard time getting up. I cleaned up as best I could , changed bloody clothes, then went back to bed. My nose was so full of blood that I had to breath through my mouth which I hate doing. It must have got me an hour and a half to get settled and back to sleep again. I have two cuts on my nose and a little bit of a black eye. DH says I sound funny but my nose is full of blood and phlegm.

Thankful for a warm home on this truly deep freeze day. Thankful I can stay home inside today.

My husband did the same thing Kelli! He was saved by the sink which was not all that far away so he got a good grip to break the fall. Got his nose cut good. I think part of the issue is that it feels like the toilets are getting shorter! 😏

I can't be that our quad muscles are not as strong or able to raise and lower ourselves as we once could. My second bath redo -- I raised the toilet and it sure helped.

Kelli ... is your nose still bleeding ?

My nose stopped bleeding not long after I fell but there was drying blood inside. (I think I may have been knocked out, based on the amount of blood I lost in the amount of time I was conscious.) I've got a couple cuts on my face and my eyelids are red and swollen. I'm in no pain as long as I don't touch anything. I don't feel dizzy or weak.

Kelli my guess is it will look worse before it gets better. You might wind up with two black eyes

I was outside to feed the birds and potty the dog. Got back inside really fast. Much too cold out there for anyone.

It was cold yesterday but wind chill makes it even colder out there today.

Today I am thankful for the fact that the supper is bubbling on the stovetop...the cake is out of the oven and I am still standing. After a night of no sleep ( not for lack of trying ) I am pooped!

Just listened to a news report of another fatality accident which has me feeling even more deeply thankful that, because I no longer drive, I no longer have to be on our local highways.

Though I hate doing laundry, I'm thankful I have a washer and dryer.

Thankful my food shopping is done and I have money to get extra things like bird suet and treats.
