I am thankful for rain again today.

I haven't had a narcotic pain med since the surgery in 1990 and that was the day of the surgery, while I was hospitalized. Don't get me wrong, pain meds are a God-send. Over my 42 year span of practicing dentistry, I probably prescribed well over 100,000 narcotic meds, so it certainly is not that I don't value pain control. I'm just one of those strange people that doesn't like to take medicines. Thus I never even consider most pain meds. I occasionally will take Advil but even that is rare. I can take the pain, heck, after four decades I just expect it, but either the pain has gotten worse or getting old made me less tolerant. I am hopeful as well as optimistic that the fusion will lessen the pain, improving my life. I have a lot left to do before I am called home.

Kelli, you need all the rain you can get. Y'all have a lot of catching up to do.

Today I am thankful for my new laptop that came yesterday. DH is helping me get it set up so I am extra thankful for him and his tech expertise.

I'm thankful for people that are willing to try.

Restless sleep last night so I am doubly thankful today for coffee.

I was thankful last night for my warm, dry bed on a cold, rainy night.

Though I hate taking my walk every day, I am thankful that I am able to do it.

I'm thankful today I found a new place to get my promix and chicken feed. Saved quite a bit of money I can use for seeds!

Thankful that Poppy is back in my driveway where she belongs....at least until my son asks to use her again

I am thankful to be able to comfortably walk each day also. Fortunately I don't hate to walk, in fact I love to walk. Well, unless it is a nasty day outside. But usually I find it relaxing to walk with my little dog.

I am extremely thankful for the good heath that at my age of 68 lets me walk about 3 miles for exercise each day.

Today We walked 4 miles and there are days I do less than the 3 miles but lately I have worked up to the 3 miles and the dog and I go off walking.

I am thankful for this mild winter so as we can go walking. Don't have as much time in the summer what with the garden and all.

I'm thankful for health, a job and a house that is paid off. A dear friend's husband lost his job this past week and they are in dire straits.... Carpe diem!

I am thankful that it was warm enough for me to work outside and it wasn't raining ..

With our drought, I really never thought I would say that, but it's been raining or snowing every day for weeks !

Today I am thankful that DH is installing Windows 10 on my new computer. I don't have a clue about those things.

Tell me how you like Windows 10, Jean. I am soon to get a new computer (mine is over 5 years old and has become "cranky"). I imagine it will be Windows based, since that's all I have ever had, and I am sure 10 is what will probably be loaded.

@drdawg I always hate the new program whatever it happens to be, until I get comfortable using it, and about that time I have to change to a new one. Sometimes the upgrades only consist of changing where they put each function -- sort of like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

That's a scary situation. I hope everything will work out for them. Definitely carpe diem.
