I have hit the 'decline invitation ' button once or twice and I LIKED it!!!!!

I use the "Decline" button as well. If someone doesn't give any information about himself/herself or is foreign, well, they get declined. I will often even tell those without personal information that I am declining their "friend" offer because I am old and being so, like to know something about them. I guess that's called being old-fashioned, huh?

Not old fashioned at all - just being choosy in your friends is all - good for you!

Well if you get settled, things seem to be going well, and one day something happens and you want to talk to them, you can always hit the friend button. It alot more stress and drama to hit the unfriend. I think its good your laying the weeds for a bit.

They don't have our new phone or email (had to change providers) but they're the ones who suggested this park, so I'm sure if they wanted to they could find us.

Nothing wrong with being "old fashioned"

I get requests for friends from men all the time and I decline them as the last time I accepted one from a man, he started talking about sex and meeting up with me. I'm afraid to accept any friends requests from a man unless on a my female friends tells me the guy is safe to have as a friend.

Ronnie ... I have been thinking about this all night and I don't know how to tell you what is in my heart. I know you are hurting and will continue to hurt for a long, long time and I am deeply sorry for that pain in your life.

No one can save another from the consequences of poor choices in their lives even when they know those consequences are horrid. However, you have given your GD one of the most magnificent and priceless treasures one person can ever give to another person. Whether or not she accepts or recognizes the value of that gift, it has been and is a part of the fabric of her life and was, and is, uniquely yours to give. You have given her the gift of your unconditional love. So many people in the world never have that in their lives. It's there. It's real and it is of great value.

I pray that you feel God's presence as you walk this part of your life's journey loving your troubled GD and knowing you are not alone with your pain.

Thank you all, sometimes it just feels good to cry out loud...

Sometimes I feel guilty that I gave up on her but I just don't know what else to do. I thought for sure after her mom died and she saw how much we truly loved her by being there for her she would change...I just hope someday she sees the love we all tried tried to give her for 22 years, especially me She was more a daughter to me than granddaughter.

Lyn that was one of the main things we (I) tried to show her, bad choices lead to consequences...she just doesn't see it or truly doesn't care. Unfortunately she is a lot like her mother was.

She was invited to my niece's wedding in September and has declined, she told my BIL that no one talks to her...always turning things around to make it look like it wasn't her that chose to not stay in our family. Does she not remember it was our entire family that reached out when she was abandoned by her mom in the first place for 5 years...

Sorry to ramble I could write a novel here if I put it down from the beginning...

Ronnie Some people do not realize that one of the greatest gifts of all is a loving family. Lyn stated it so beautifully and I couldn't agree more.

And, perhaps she has some reluctance to witness a peer marrying and facing a bright future with a mate.. We never know what goes on in anothers head..sometimes rejection and snarkiness is a cover for desire and hopelessness.
