I call this sdlg. purple pixie, from last year. I find it hard to believe, because of the difference in size, but I cant help thinking that purple recurl I showed the other day, is its sibling. The buds look identical. Well...who knows

An 8 miles high sdlg. It is very tall and strong scape. Cant seem to get it to take anything that will jazz it up.

I only have this one seedling to share at present time. So an afternoon shot with the peach shading faded out from all day sun.

Pam, I think you could call that one Pixie Perfect! Love it.

I was pretty happy with a seedling that bloomed today...............until I saw some of the ones on here. Fred rules!

I almost hate to show mine but at least it's a poly double.

Thank you, I love them myself but, I also like a little bling sometimes.

Very nice seedlings Pam, I think I said before I like recurves.

Had some folks from Defuniak Springs here yesterday but no Stan
Nice seedling Stan, do you ever hybridize in the afternoon?

Leslie I have been watching your seedlings for several years and
you seem to always get the polys your looking for. I do not think
I would have the patience to work at one thing as long as you have.

Ashton & Terry, good to see things are picking up, nice seedlings.

Fred, I sure hated missing the trip over yesterday, but I just couldn't dig myself out of the hole I'm in at work. The man wants his money's worth this week... Hilarious!

I am really enjoying seeing all the seedlings posted.

I can't imagine the joy of seeing a double poly opening up in my garden. That is quite something, Leslie Thumbs up

In a few weeks, I will get to see my very first seedling bloom. I didn't hybridize it, but rather I received some seeds from @profesora in 2014. Planted in August 2014, kept them in the house all winter and then moved them outside in spring of 2015. The cross is Emerald Toucanet x Malachite Sunbird and a few of the 23 seedlings will bloom this year. Very excited!

This is why it's easy to get attached to your seedlings Big Grin . This is another 'Wild Horses' seedling and as with all of them the best bet would having 'French Twist' as the pollen parent, but could also be 'Serge Rigaud' or 'Primal Scream'. The curl makes me lean toward 'French Twist', but the basic face favors 'Wild Horses' as does the smooth orange custard of the basic flower color.

Lovely seedling!!!!
I don't know about those buds. Any chance that something got on them? I have the lady living upstairs that is a cleaning maniac and the plants I have under her balcony always have some white staining. I guess it's some detergent she uses.

Fred, I like a little bling sometimes too, just probably less often than others. I do have a few eyed daylilies here. Hilarious! Perhaps it is time to add a few more...

My favorite form of bling, however, is in heavy diamond dusting and also wire gilt edges. Lovey dubby But I also like the edge-no-eye look too.

That's a pretty amazing poly double there, Leslie. Blinking

A couple of sibs, someone ask a wild back, which determines
the bloom, pod or pollen. Looks like both in this cross.

Fred, I just realized I failed to answer your question about afternoon hybridizing. I haven't as reading in other area that its preferred before 80° temps. So that being a usual early morning temp here, I have always tried in the morning.

btw, Love that pattern on that 4" bloom and I'm still deciding if I like that dry brushed look of the top one.

I've kind of been waffling back and forth on whether I like the brushed pattern on the first one, Fred. Leaning more toward liking it though each time I look at it. I wonder what kind of description (brushed, stippled) would be used for that one.

Love the 6" Fashion Icon x Wild Dreams seedling!

Thanks to everyone for sharing your beautiful seedlings. These threads are always my favorite, please keep the pictures coming. I have lots of scapes on my seedlings, and should see some blooms mid June, I think. I planted last years seedlings were the irrigation water for the corn field hits them, and I have lots of scapes coming on them as one-year-olds. I have mentioned before that high doses of liquid nitrogen is ran through the circle, and was curious if that would help get bloom in one year, rather than two or three. Seems to have worked, although, one year doesn't make rule.

a couple years ago, I ordered some seeds Malachite Prism x Kaleidoscope Puzzle, from Horseskipper ( no longer selling). He sent a Fancy Face x pink sdlg. cross as a bonus. Its not what I would like, but kept the FF sedlg, because of the substance, scape, but most of all, it has never had rust. Unheard of here. This is that sdlg.

Thumb of 2016-05-26/gardenglory/790dff
It so happened that the prism/puzzle sdlg. was blooming that day. It was struggling, so I put its pollen on the FF sdlg.
Today, two of the babies 'popped'. The first is tall but a not so strong scape yet, kinda bland, but it is FFO, the second, I really like, and the scape isnt as tall, but great substance
