Could it be a traffic issue? I think it was yesterday that I tried to upload a photo in Butterflies, Birds and Bees forum but it was taking so long I gave up. I cancelled, went back to the thread and found new photos had been posted during the time I was trying to post (Melanie? Hilarious! ).

I'm definitely considering that it's a problem with our network, rather than the server.

Not to add any confusion to this issue but photo's open fine on my phone and hit and miss on my computer.

mellielong said:Sandy, I'm also using Chrome on a laptop, but today seems to be worse than it has been.

I also had trouble loading the pictures in the Monarch article and the "jump to first unread" has been really stuttering today. Some of the recent pictures on the front page are also loading slowly. Before the merger, I can't recall ever waiting and watching a picture load slowly from top to bottom.

Strange -- I'm not noticing a problem with the photos at all.

But yes, definitely getting that "stutter" with jump to first unread; the longer the thread, the longer the pause.

I'm getting the usual it and miss on photos, but now some pages don't want to load. No, I haven't kept track of which.

And now, as I just went from here back to the homepage, all my watched thread alerts have disappeared. I knew I should have finished going through them first. Is that even possible?

Hurray! Hurray! Hey all, I think that Dave has been able to fix our problems. nodding I just realized that I went through a whole slew of photos in one of the forums and everything loaded immediately. No lags whatsoever. I had to do it again to make sure that I wasn't mistaken. I hope that everyone has the same results. Thanks, Dave for working so hard to resolve this. Thumbs up

Me too - same issues sporadically, but regularly. To clarify, not all the time, but it happens every day, every session.

I hope Dave is playing with this now! I'm getting all kinds of strange things . Threads not opening ( the little blue circle is wiggling then it goes blank page) If I close the post and reopen it, it works. Photo on Insects and diseases came from Database...or tried to. It was very slowly opening from the top down.

Still hit or miss on both fronts here.

I am seeing the same issues as Carol. Closing the post and then reopening it has been the solution for me for page loads that seem to time out.

I'm probably straining the server with all my Hibiscus photos, but I have noticed a lag when pages are loading. Mostly, it's just when I'm looking for a cultivar in the database. All the photos are loading with no problem, but the pages themselves are only loading the blue border and the place where the info is takes a second or two before it fills in, if that makes sense.
