I tried uploading some photos in a tree mail. Going back to it later and then opening the photos I sent. Some opened normal, others slow. This was something I did not see others mention... opening from tree mail.

I've never had any photos in tree mail! Wasn't even sure it was possible.

It seems the common denomiators are photos and switching pages. Sometimes when I log in, it takes a bit to finally load. I kept thinking maybe the site was getting a lot of traffic and slowing things down. I will say that I never had this problem before NGA was added. So maybe there is something to the addition of this other site that has affected ATP? Something in the combining of the two sites.

I've also noticed the slight delay with the "jump to new post" feature. I think it's jumping to the right page, then it takes just a second to jump down to the first new post. It's still quick, but I never noticed that "stutter" before.

Using a Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows 10 and Chrome here. High speed internet through Time Warner cable.

I've definitely noticed this effect as well... sort of an odd pause, I think on the top post on the last page of the forum, before it jumps down to "first unread." Haven't recently had any problems opening photos, but I haven't actually opened that many of them in the past few days, either.

(I have a Dell Studio laptop, Win7, using Chrome, on Charter cable)

Thank you all for this feedback. It's a lot to read but I'm carefully reading each report on this thread.

The main problem here is that this is not happening to me and that makes it almost impossible to fix. If I can experience it for myself, and replicate it, then I can start testing and trying different things until I can fix it for myself.

Switching to NGA wouldn't have changed things, BUT we did add a new server a few weeks ago and that is a huge change. It feels to me like something with the new server is causing this issue. It's not the extra load on the server placed by our extra traffic, I'm sure of that.

I've been out of town for since Thursday morning, but I'm back in my office now and will continue to investigate this. I really appreciate everyone's patience as I figure this out!

This problem is much worse tonight. Takes a while to load each page and photos won't enlarge without me x it out and trying again and sometimes 2 or 3 times more. Is there a lot more people on the site at this time?

I'm sure the working folks are more plentiful at this hour, but us old, retired gardeners have been active all day. I haven't tried to open much today, and it's possible that Dave is working on it, but this morning I had to refresh to get back to the home page. Shrug!

I made another adjustment this morning (literally just now) and am hoping it may have a positive impact on this problem. Let me know!

I just went into some forums I seldom visit, opened photos in threads I have not been to before, and also to the recent database photos... Also in my tree mail .... Opened random images from all and they opened much faster. A small hesitation on a few, but most opened right up.

This was on the iPad Mini that is a few months old and up to date on software, TimeWarner Internet.

So far, I think things improved! Hurray!

I tip my hat to you.

Photos working fine.

Just a very slight pause before jumping to newest post.

Thanks, Dave.

I just checked Plant Id forum. There was one post with 5 photos where the first and last opened while the three in the middle did not. After checking a few more posts, I went back to it and they all opened right away.

Your browsers saves a cache image of pages you visit to make it load faster when you return. So just because it loaded faster on your second visit does not necessarily mean the problem is fixed. Your need to visit pages that you have not been to and see if they load fast on those pages.

Ok, I tried a couple of forums I'd never looked at before. Got some great ideas too, but out of about 30 pictures I just scrolled through, I had one in Garden art that hung up, then opened when I went back to it after viewing a few more. Way better than yesterday!
