Patchy fog before 9 am. Otherwise, cloudy. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.

Charley,
Don't you just love ''new'' weather. I think it's awesome you had so much rain!
What a beautiful patio! And I love all your birds!
I live on the edge of town so I don't get to see many country birds unless we go for a drive, but I love to see the meadowlarks.

We are experiencing the coolest 4 of July weekend in a long time. Highs in the high 60s to low 70s with overcast skies. Good thing is its making all those blooms last very long into the day and on some you would think its still morning all day.

I'm impressed by your rainfall, Charlie. It is more than we've been getting.

They are calling for a high of 84F, which means it will be around 87F at my place. It is cloudy right now, which keeps the temperature down.

100f so far....that sounds awful Linda. Cool mornings the past two days, 47 and 49. Day temps have been in the mid 80's with low humidity, not to bad if you skip the mid day hours and stay inside. Finished the garden project yesterday Hurray! Now I have a lot of planting to rearrange this fall/next spring and even made space for a few new plants Whistling Scapes everywhere, when the magic starts and the blooms open it is going to be quite a show.

The weather report tonight included a bit of history. On July 4th 1911 the temperature was 105f, the hottest temperature recorded in Vermont. Glad I wasn't here in 1911.....

Beautiful image Charley, looks and sounds so relaxing and peaceful there.

About 5 years ago I remember spending the 4th at my cousins house on a lake. It was l04 and miserable. It was pleasant today and I am glad not in the l00's.

Me too! Hilarious! I think the hottest I've seen it is 101 or 102 and that is rare. Thankfully the hot temps only last a few days and then we get back to 80's. It's sunny and 53f this morning, shorts and tank top weather Smiling

Patchy fog before 9 am. Otherwise, mostly sunny. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph.

Kevin,
The Fourth was cold and misty here.

Charley,
Perfect first daylily!

I mowed yesterday after we fogged. It knocked them down pretty good. Last night they were horrible again. The town is supposed to spray again. I wish it was today.

Flood mosquito I killed on my lampshade.

Wow Char, are you equipped to handle the 100 temps?

Linda, once it hits 90 in AZ it is just hot and always getting hotter....the highest temp in my back yard yesterday was 112 and my hubby still insisted on barbecue burgers and dogs....I stayed inside waiting!

I am so thankful for the rain we had on Friday...but I am hoping for more monsoons....send some rain this way, the deserts are too dry!

Very warm and humid out right now. The birds are flocking to the birdbath a lot. Supposed to get to 88 today and it is well on its way.

Carla,
Gotta love your husband for grilling!

Rita,
Yep, they are impressive. I'd rather have them than the little darters. The big ones are slow and pretty easy to swat before they get you.

I sprayed my mosquito suit and walked the flower beds. I didn't hear a mosquito till I got to the garden. I was invisible! It's getting hot already but I need to go out and tie up some tall plants that are flopping over.

That sounds lovely, Mayo. We are in the midst of a hot summer, with little rain. Not our usual kind of summer. Our temperatures are running above normal almost all the time, with rainfall way below normal. We are now in a moderate drought situation. Crying
