@5601Lisa - thank you so much. If I may grab 75, I'd be thrilled!!

Jill, I was thinking of 75-100 Dark Eyes Muscari in particular. But I'll bump up my order of the other Muscari varieties to 10-15 more bulbs if that helps top off a box.

Thanks, Terri... I'll order the blue Scilla. How many do you want for sure (minimum)? I've been putting minimums into the spreadsheet and then making a note (Excel has a good "comment" feature) if people are willing to take more.

OK, Lisa, that will bring Dark Eyes up to where I'm comfortable ordering them (figure the other 50 will be claimed by fall). I have you down for 25-50 M. latifolium. Were you interested in any of the other Muscari?

I really loved the M. paradoxum that Aspenhill planted a couple years ago... their coloring (deep purple over blue-violet) looks odd in the online photo, but soft and beautiful in person, struck me as rather Victorian (perfect for Aspen Hill, actually). I've also been wanting to try a bicolor (white topped) variety again, and ADR is offering 'Peppermint', but at the moment I'm really drawn to paradoxum. Any takers?

Jill, I now realize if I want pull off the image of a Muscari "river," I should order at least 100 latifolium. Maybe 150.
I'll take 25-50 paradoxum too.

If you want a "river," you need at least 150... I put 500 mixed color along the edge of my front landscape bed and got a "rivulet," nice effect! Over time, the blue ones out-competed the rest, so I'e learned to plant different varieties separately. ADR has a bulk tray of 2500 for $225...

M. latifolium bloom later and taller than the others, just so you know. trying to recall since I only have a scattered few.. but I think they are more likely to bloom with tulips than with daffs...

Muscari varieties Atlantic, Fantasy Creation. Valerie F, and Peppermint come in bulk trays half that size,,, you have me eyeing those now, thinking one of the kids who have learned to use my mini tiller could plow a curving line, then we could just toss in the bulbs...

Thanks, Chantell & Lisa for rounding out the M. paradoxum! For now I'll put you both down for 25 and me for 100... I have 2 more days to contemplate that tray.... Lisa, you just had to go and use the word "river," bring up images of that fabulous display of grape hyacinth and Thalia daffs at the Keukenhoff!

I wish I had the soil to plant a river, or even a small stream! I'm not in the mood to dig up that much clay and rock. Although.... I suppose I could use a few more rocks. (Yeah, right!) Big Grin

I did mix varieties of Muscari last year for my modest rivulet but not sure which ones. Latifolium rings a bell. I had bought up all the leftovers from the Group Buy at CAM's swap.
Maybe I should try a boatload of either Atlantic or Peppermint. Fantasy Creation looks too shaggy, and VF is too pale.
Suggestions?

Jill, I'm having a devil of a time trying to ID my Muscari. I took the snap on April 8. Daffs, Ipheion and leucojum had bloomed two weeks earlier, tulips bloomed three to five weeks later. I'm thinking April 8 may be too early for Latifolium and consequently, whatever I planted is another variety.
I'll take another look at ADR's Muscari.

Sorry to be a pain in the kiester. What's the price on 250 Muscari armeniacum bulbs? If I get the "value pack," is that an absurd number of bulbs?

Lisa, here's the prices that I can see on ADR. Jill may have better prices as an established buyer.

Muscari Armeniacum
Bin display box of 250 bulbs - $29.50
Bulk tray of 1250 bulbs - $112.50
Skid of 10,000 bulbs - $899.00

Liesa, did you have a photo you meant to post?

Yes, 250 bulbs of M. armeniacum is $22.50 (11.2 cents per bulb, size 9/10). It's the cheapest variety and also a proven multiplier.

The value pack box is 30 packs of 50 bulbs (total of 1500, size 8/9) for $122.50. That's 8.2 cents per bulb. But I think it's more than you want, although actually planting 3 or 4 small bulbs for every bigger bulb (like your 500 tulips), or even on top of every bigger bulb, works out pretty well.
