Ginny, I believe that due to the erratic weather we had here in southern Indiana this spring is why I had 26 daylilies that did not bloom at all.

Here are two of my last blooms of the season:

'My Wish Tonight' (Pearce-G., 2012) is registered as Mid-Late. Started blooming on June 29 and the last bloom was on August 19. It is a bud builder.

'Backseat Romance' (Owen-P., 2011) is registered as Mid with rebloom and this rebloom scape was a welcome surprise because I don't get a lot of rebloom. It started blooming June 23 and this last bloom was on August 18.

I only had two that didn't bloom other than some of the ones planted last fall and one is a very late bloomer. When I Dream (loved the pics of yours Ginny) and the other name I temporary forgot. Appears to be loosing fans. Going to give it a pep talk Rolling on the floor laughing and some help.

If the pep talk doesn't work, you can always resort to threats of life in the compost pile Hilarious!

The plan is to add compost, garden soil and some Alfalfa.

My Wish Tonight bloomed well into August in my garden also. Kind of a good year for Ginny Pearce' later blooming daylilies in general, for me.

Vickie, your pics of MWT are so much better than mine. It's hard to get that color right. Hurray!

@Lyshack, Tim, I agree that Ginny Pearce's daylilies did well this year. I have Sailor Sky, My Wish Tonight, Kathy Perkins, and Flutterfest and they all did beautifully!

Vickie,
I can't help noticing that you used the past tense for these blooms in your zone 6b garden. Do you have any very late bloomers that are still blooming on their original scapes ( i.e., not reblooms)? Or any that are yet to bloom?

I have observed that the following daylilies registered as "very late" finished blooming almost two weeks ago, or even earlier in my zone 6b garden:

Easy Ned
Last Quarter
Lime Frost
Sun Temple Spirit
Flameburst

All my daylilies registered as "late" finished blooming here several weeks ago.

Frans Hals, registered as a mid-late bloomer, finished blooming here on August 21.

The reason I find this thread helpful is because it contains the personal experience of other gardeners with daylilies that actually bloom very late, not that are just registered to do so. This is important to me because I have not found the registered bloom time to be as accurate/informative as I would like it to be. Perhaps the guidelines for registering bloom time are a bit subjective.

@csandt, Carol, I was going to reply "no", but then I looked out my French doors and there in the distance is "Running Late" on it's last bloom, lol! I may have a bloom on Mascara Snake and August Flame left, but that is really all I have. Guess I haven't picked very good ones for August bloom.
