Here is a link to the Garden Ideas Article I did about late bloomers.

I have gotten several late and late rebloomers from Tranquil Lakes. I was out there at the end of September a few years back and got to see what was blooming that day. I take my son back to school right down the road from there in 10 days. I plan to make another visit then.

A few very lates that I haven't seen mentioned yet is Steeple Jackie and Barbara. Both are about 2 weeks away from their FFO. I have several scapes developing on each of them.

Blooming now with more buds yet to bloom:

Frans Hals; I received this plant as a tiny gift with an order of peony roots from Wild ; it took two years to bloom:

August Flame; very slow to establish in my garden; took two years to flourish, but now it is beautiful:
Thumb of 2018-08-15/csandt/e4c9ea

Back to School. First summer in my garden; plant is very small; FFE

I am beginning to wonder if all or most very-late-blooming daylilies are slow to establish. August Flame and Back to School came from two different growers in New England and started out as much, much smaller rhizomes than I have ever received from growers in Virginia, Michigan and Georgia. Is slow establishment a characteristic of very-late-blooming daylilies themselves or sources in New England? What is your experience?

Carol I haven't noticed that, but I might look at mine and see if the late bloomers took longer. Keep on Looking has been blooming for quite awhile and is still blooming!

Genesta was one of five plants that I got from a seller in Wisconsin on the LA as a package deal for 19.99 I want to say. It was sold as one fan, but I believe I got a couple. It didn't missed a beat the following year as it increased and bloomed. The rest as they say is history. I believe that some plants take awhile to get going while others just take off.

I agree - any of mine that are evergreen do take longer to get established, but so far, other than a couple, they have done quite well after a couple years.
