Yes, TROPICAL HEATWAVE is a great plant Bron. Thank you for the one you sent me. I have set a few pods because I am an orange fanatic.

Some blooms.

This bloom I like. However, anything out of Alexander's CRIKEY (unregistered) is usually a rust magnet. This seedling is nocturnal but it hasn't performed well with branching or number of blooms. The grim reaper looms over it, alas.

It was 30 deg here b4 9am. Fortunately it has dropped a bit since then. But the wind has gusts of 50km/hr. Not what we need.

Hello Everyone,
I was invited to add photos of my daylilies here. I usually hang out in the iris forums and I don't wish to get too involved in the daylily forums as I have a lot to do in the garden at the moment. I only have 3 daylilies. They are:

I like the midribs on the first Crikey sdlg. Makes the colours look good. Is it a ruster? Most (but not all) of my plants look better rust-wise than I have ever seen (except for when I first bought rust free plants). Some rain might change that.

I like the 2nd sdlg. Have u seen it bloom much?

Best looking IDA'S MAGIC I have seen pics of. MUMMER'S PARADE, ROSE HELENA and BILINGA are lovely.
Is BELA sunfast? It looks great in your pic.

Thank You! Thankyou for your welcome Diana and Della.
I am struggling to find space for my iris purchases this year and that should be enough incentive to not build on my small daylily collection.

I had no idea that my daylilies are unusual - that is beginner's luck. "Queensland Red" was a freebie from Woodeden daylilies with a kniphofia order and when it bloomed in autumn when bugger all else was in flower, I decided to buy another one. I bought "Garnet Prism" on ebay and received "June Reid Memorial" as a freebie.

Bron, rust loves both the Crikey seedlings. These are some more photos of them from today. Damn small caterpillars got into the bud and ate into the stamens of the second bloom. I have had quite a few buds so invaded this year that I will have to look into it and do something about it. Excuse the tongue and foot.

Thumb of 2016-11-25/Gleni/ede2ae Thumb of 2016-11-25/Gleni/023a02

I have another interesting custard-colored Crikey seedling that hasn't flowered yet. It might not this season because I had to shift it and it got crown rot but survived but went down to one fan.

Bela Lugosi is sunfast but our sun can make it look a bit of a wreck by lunch time.

Robin, wow, that you got June Reid Memorial as a freebee. It was one of my most expensive daylilies when I bought it.

Della, I do like Echoes From The Past x Betty Smith too!! Covet. These are the parents of the Orange Noid X Thin Man seedling. The noid is a tall, vigorous, flower machine and bud builder that I found growing in someone's garden as a straggler in their weeds.

The cross is 4 way branching and a tall, blooming machine as well. The cross was purposeful. I have two other siblings to it that should flower soon.

Hi Robin. I started writing this days ago. Internet drops out.
Hope u enjoy the daylily threads as much as I do. Wish I had had my education from the site b4 I bought any daylilies. Of course they perform differently in different climates and even micro climates in a single garden. And rust severity seems very variable. In the past my PICCADILLY PRINCESS plants got rust badly, but now they are more established they don't look too bad. Hope that you don't have, or get rust. The foliage on your plants and Della's is a joy to behold.

The sdlgs are fascinating. I love the way so many of the blooms on this page have stamens with colours the same as the edges, eyes or throat.
Yday I had FFOS on METAPHOR which looks totally different from previous years. The heat and wind took their toll

MAKING A SPLASH is big and beautiful. Not quite double yet. Needs rain. It died down completely in winter even tho it was not cold. A good way to beat rust. I have been letting the native grass grow for shade and to deter wallabies
