My hubby does not do bookwork, does not do money, banking, etc. I've told him that if I croaked tomorrow he would be a financial cripple.

kqcrna said:My husband doesn't cook, and he's a disaster with laundry, his cleaning leaves a lot to be desired, but, by God, he handles the money and I'm so thankful for that! OK, it doesn't always actually "balance", but he makes sure it's not too far out of whack.

I just hate messing with money, bank accounts, retirement accounts, insurance, ... any kind of paperwork really... I'd rather scrub toilets all day than deal with paperwork.Karen

My DH sounds a lot like yours Karen, as far as the cooking, cleaning and laundry goes. But I do the booking keeping, get the bills ready and I send him to the bank to pay them, most are automatically withdrawn. I keep a good record of everything so that if I croak first he will be able to figure things out. Hilarious!

Good morning (though I know it's still evening for some of you). Slept like a log for about 9 hours and could have gone on for more if the alarm hadn't awakened us. Looking forward to seeing Milan today. Yesterday we just walked around for 2 hours before dinner. There's a Hop-on and off old trolley tour we think we'll take. We have a confirmed tour of the Last Supper next week before we return home - that one you have to book ahead and it's not cheap. Today, the Cathedral and whatever else we get to.

Yesterday afternoon I did the annual pruning of the willow which means climbing ladders and getting on the roof of the patio, I took a lot of the lower branches, DH did the clean up. I did manage to put a good scrape and pull the skin off my forearm on the end of a sharp branch that I had cut, looks ugly but is just a surface thing, at least I didn't fall of the roof or the ladders. Hilarious!

Yesterday afternoon I started the pilgrimage of the potted plants to the greenhouse. I managed 2 loads with the loader tractor before it got too dark (and I wanted to watch Big Bang Theory at 7 pm anyway...........LOL). So far today I think I have hauled up at least 6 loads...........I'm "maybe" half done. It takes me longer because I prune what needs it after I get it taken up there but before I wheel it all in. I'm getting a pretty big "gut pile" outside the greenhouse. Rolling on the floor laughing It will get bigger because this is the year for cutting back the ferns; at least the Kimberly Queen ones. The other varieties look pretty decent where they are, but my opinion may change after I get them out of their "summer places" and see them out in the open from all sides.

The load I have on the loader tractor right now are the heaviest ones.......my big brugs in the 24 inch pots (they may be bigger, IDK..............). I have the hacksaw at the ready to cut those back. We could almost use what I cut off of them for firewood. Rolling on the floor laughing They are heavy; I had all i wanted to get them finagled onto the loader. They probably weigh more than I do (and I weigh alot......LOL)

No exercise walks for my dog Lily and I today or yesterday as I was doing lots of heavy yard work. Pulling out and bundling up veggie plants to put out by the curb for Wednesdays pickup. The bending and pulling and carrying makes me tired. If I go on my exercise walk I don't do that much in the garden and I had a lot needed doing these past two days.

Here are some of my brugs before and after the "butchering". And you can see my handy-dandy loader tractor that I use to haul it all back to the g'house.

Those 2 ginormous ones in the tan pots I have never repotted since I put them in those big ones. I have to tell you that the big one in the black pot is going to the compost heap. It never did bloom much, not like those other 2. The smaller one with the pink blooms is now residing in the black pot.

I know I should probably root-prune those 2 big ones, and there can't be much potting medium left in those pots, but I don't think I can manage that job myself, and the SU would no doubt whine if I asked for assistance. Rolling on the floor laughing

Looks like lots of work, Anna.

Didn't get here yesterday or the day before. On Monday, we walked about 9 km in Milan. Didn't intend to walk that far, but DH was carrying a pocket knife which meant we had to visit the large cathedral one at a time. We hopped back on the bus to finish the tour and leave the knife at the hotel before returning to the cathedral to visit the roof. Then to the nearby La Scala Museum. I've posted (too many) picture on FB at https://www.facebook.com/media...

Yesterday, 8:20 am train to Cremona and the start of the International Viola Congress here. Very picturesque and our hotel, close to the venue, is on a lane that is narrower than our garage.
