Today it is damp and chilly and raw out from the overnight rain. If I didn't have a dog I would have never gone for a walk today but I do and I did. Gets me out and about.

Now if its anywhere near nice I enjoy walking but of course there are times I would rather sit and do nothing. A dog motivates you.

If you don't want a dog maybe you could volunteer to walk a neighbors or friends dog. It really is more pleasant to walk with a dog than alone.

I know. My only son has lived in Seattle since he graduated from college. We only get to see him a few days a year usually. Sad We're close, we usually talk once a week, but I sure with he lived closer.

The thing is, we all have to live our lives as we see fit. Above all else, I want him to be happy.

Karen, mornings here are not hot. Most of the time, they are actually cooler than a gym. We start at 7 AM. It cools off very well at night. If it is above 68F in the morning, that is a very hot morning. Plus it is even cooler down on the valley floor in the morning where we walk than it is up on the hill at our house.

BTW, I walk with DH, not alone.

Karen, is your son on FB?, that's a good way to stay in touch more, my son and I chat every day, kind of nice to say good morning and goodnight, give virtual hugs and kisses. Lovey dubby

Yes, he is, but I'm not. Hilarious! I had a FB account for a very short time. Hated it. Found it a pain, didn't have time for it. After much work, I managed to delete the account. Rolling on the floor laughing In that respect, FB is like the Hotel California.... Rolling on the floor laughing This site is my social media.

My son isn't very active on it, either, I don't think.

Our biggest obstacle in talking during the week is the difference in time zones. By the time he gets home from work, I'm asleep for the night.

Kelli, I still think you should reconsider a gym. You could do lots of different kinds of exercise. Most now don't require a contract, I don't think. There are a lot popping up around here that are only $10/ month and no contract.

Karen, I am not very active on FB either, it is mainly to keep in touch and chat with my kids, we mostly use the private messages, we aren't on the computer all the time so quite often we leave A message and answer when we check in. Hilarious! . Like I just left my son a message, he is at work, when he gets a free minute he will answer, he is a good son. Lovey dubby

Did aquafit this morning. Helped at the FC this afternoon - I've mostly been doing the recording of donations and banking at this time of year. Took 28 cheques to the bank - busy time for donations.

Tomorrow we'll mall walk again.

I did my exercise yesterday for 75 minutes. I took today off because DH went for groceries and he calls often checking to see if the item is correct or which one I want, love cell phones. Big Grin Then I help bring the groceries in from the garage and bring the lighter container up stairs and put everything away. I also cleaned out the fridge, and my bathroom, so I did get exercise. nodding

I got my butt down stairs and did over an hour of assorted exercise. My legs were weak today, they tried to cramp last night, but I would change position and luckily it helped stop the cramp.

Whatever works, Margaret.

My only exercise was walking the mall all day, Christmas shopping.

We went for a walk. I think walking at the gym would be even worse, just round and round the same circle. At least in the neighborhood there are different things to see. Due to the population glut, gyms seem to be pretty crowded anyways.

I would not like walking in the gym either, it would be too boring for me, and I dislike gyms, I am a bit of a germaphobe.

I like the gym. I like the people. We socialize and laugh a lot. I use most of the different cardio machines in addition to walking. Has to be better as using all the different machines works different muscles. I also do strength training.

There will be no walks until the Christmas tree is decorated. I do not have the stamina of the average person and never had. If I walk and decorate the tree, I get tired and cross. I do not want that. DH does not want that. Walks can be taken on any day. There is a time restraint for the Christmas tree. Decorating the tree is not without some exercise, like going up and down the stool countless times. I have a lot more ornaments than the average person.

I went to the gym, exercised for an hour. I feel good now. And thanks to my time-release melatonin, I had a good night's sleep, too.

We seem to have a million ornaments, too. We've been collecting them since we got married in 1979. We have big cartons of them that haven't even made it out of the carton for the past few years. Shrug!

When people don't know what to get you, they buy you an ornament.

So true, my sister gave us a pink one with a dog painted on it a few years ago, totally not my thing, hate pink on the Christmas tree so I always hide it at the back. Sighing!

We had a family ornament exchange for years among my husband's family- his 7 siblings, their kids... so many ornaments over the years.

Trying to motivate myself to start Christmas cards tonight. We just finished dinner and I'm not feeling the urge.
