Good going, Daniel! I only gave out ONE packet, but my veggies tend to go AFTER the first few days.

Maybe I'll start "pimping my seeds" early this time: look for Aunt Mollies Ground Cherries under "G for Ground". 3 offers.

Ground Cherry (Physalis pruinosa 'Aunt Molly's')

The system is really well put together and works well.
I missed out on one of my top wants, but I have been fortunate in others.

Thanks, Elena! That gave me #5.

I haven't yet tried many of the seeds I listed, including that Yukon spinach.

Jim, it sounds like your climate is hot enough for those yard-long beans. (I found a light-green-pod yard-long bean with WHITE seeds, and a dark-green-pod yard-long bean with red-brown seeds.)

I thought the unusual squash and Mao Gua would go fast, but I see not. That's OK, I have so few of them!

The hairy gourd interested me, but I didn't' have time to research what to do with it. Are there recipes for it, or is it just a novelty for the fuzziness? ...Another gourd to line seasonal decorative baskets, perhaps?

Aww, you had to ask. I have NO idea how to cook them. They look like cucumbers. I was sorta hoping to learn from whoever requested them, how to cook them.

Stir-fry and soup, is what I see online. I'm starting to run out of interesting Brassicas from Taionong, so I went outside my comfort zone with this seed order.

I thought I had requested a "Dento" winter squash that looked like the Hunchback of Notre Dame with lots of warts, but got the 'Super Nishiki Ebisu' instead. It was an alternate request, so they were probably out of 'Dento'.

Blinking TOMATOES still ripening?? Blinking

Wow. We haven't had frosts yet, but we're five days "overdue" based on the last 20-year-average.

And nights have been well below 50 for ... many weeks.

I read that Ground Cherries can be hard to germinate, so I kept the pkt size at
1/32 tsp ~ 100 seeds. I could have gone to 1/64th tsp, but that's my smallest measuring spoon.

Except for these:

Elena has a great selection. Thankfully her tastes run with mine and much of what she offers I can actually grow here. I do have to be careful with cooler zones from 6 on with seeds though. If it needs cool, this is not the place for that plant, lol.

But I will also say this, I've been extremely happy with everyone's offerings. I think everyone has something I can use in my zone. It just takes me time to spread this all out between everyone. Smiling

Ok I see nobody wanted Bartlettina sordida enough to bid on the seeds the first day. I am not surprised as I had never heard of it before either. Here is my advertisement. I bought a plant this spring it just leaped into my cart, it is growing in a pot as I don't think it will be quite hardy here (Says Zone 9). It barely bloomed, probably due to youth, but the flowers are lovely, especially next to the purple fuzzy leaves. I did not get any photos of my blooms, but here is a link. I did take a photo of the plant this spring when I bought it, and last month a close up of the leaves. Purple-leaf fanatics take note- it's very nice. I have it next to my Rhododendron impeditum and they go together great. The flowers look like a gigantic Ageratum.

Thanks for the heads up about the ground cherries. I, too, decided to grow them next year and already have my seeds or I would have bid on yours Rick. Sad

I'm thinking it's going to be closer to thanksgiving before we get any cool nights. We have another ten days of 80 degree weather and 70 degree nights. My bulbs thinks it is spring. They are sprung. One of my daturas are about to have 20 blossoms bloom. The petunias are still blooming and the alyssum is still heavenly. But, I'm happy. I still walk my yard every day just to see what is blooming again.

Karen, I'm jealous! We've had JUST enough frosty nights that the one daylily I had blooming has decided to halt production and remain at 'bud' stage indefinitely until the truly freezing weather sets in.

It has been very pleasant here, though, especially today with temperatures in the mid-seventies. I'm sad to think that today could be the last 70-degree day we see for six months...

The fall this year has been especially gorgeous. I feel as though the leaves are hanging on longer this year than the last couple of years, making for a brilliant display of color on the trees that has not escaped me in the least. It felt like, in previous years, some trees lost their leaves before others even began to change color, so the landscape wasn't the rich tapestry of color before that it is this year.
