Perhaps I have been obsessive in the past about adding pictures to the data base but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it now. I do see how to add multi-plant/landscape pictures. Perhaps I'm getting to old to learn Confused

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much white space. Once I have all my tiles in place, the homepage just looks sort of bleak...Not enough fill color...

Dave,
Could you have made it so we just drag the tiles in place? Trying to figure out which tile occupies which space to move was a little challenging. I did manage, but, drag and drop would've been so much easier.

Thanks for the update!

Howdy everyone!
It was shocking at first but I'm working to understand it.

I made a first attempt to customize and there is a floating box "Harvesting Sweet Potatoes" that needs to go somewhere else. Here is a screen shot. Please, how do I fix this? Thank You!

It's very feminine looking to me. I realize it must be frustrating if you're trying to improve something and then get critique. But good old green = gardening to me.

@Paul2032, it's to the right of each database entry, so once you find the plant, look on the right:

Adding Actions:
ยป Upload a photo

Or is it you can't find that database? All links are at the top gray menu bar, click the Plant Database and the drop down menu gives you options to click on.

The very light blue looks almost white to me. My favorite color is green and I believe green to be more soothing to the eyes...but then again I used to be a bookkeeper back when we wrote by hand onto the green paper pages. Rolling on the floor laughing

One thing that is difficult for me is the color of the text. A medium blue text against a light blue page makes my eyes unhappy. Darker text might be better for my old eyes.

@greene, it looks like you may have two items in that first box, you would need to move that Harvesting Sweet Potatoes elsewhere, to an empty box.

Paul, I don't think anything has changed; just find the plant in the database and right on the left side it says Adding Actions: The first item is Upload a photo.

Dave and Trish. So happy I am that in redesigning the default home page for the National Gardening Association that you took us "regulars" at heart. Your new design made the site appealing and informative to new visitors, yes! (Shoot, I sound like Yoda!) But you didn't create it and say to us...accept the changes or ...

Thank you so much for configuring in the wherewithal for us to be able to customize our own view of the home page...and so, we could continue to feel like a family. Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

I already moved the photo of the sweets but the words still hover in a different place.

I kept moving things around and down, down, down and finally the words that go with the sweet potato photo are where they belong.

It threw me off at first as I had not followed closely as to any changes.
I was trying to see where you could look at your past messages or "tree mails" as it was on old Page. Not seeing it?
Thank You,

Minor things.... as the "thread watcher" is my most commonly accessed page on this site, it would be AMAZING (when things settle down for you) if we could request an option to place a box for that on our customizable homepages--specifically it is what I want at the very top of my page.
Thumb of 2016-09-29/JamesAcclaims/86c118

Also, and this may only be an issue for me, the old system notifications box used to be darker and more bold. I am colorblind, and the gray(?) background color with the extremely light blue notification box, make it hard to see when there is a notification up there. I keep not seeing it at all, because (for me) it blends right in to the background.

Dave & Trish,

IT STILL WORKS WITH FIREFOX 12.0 Hurray! Thank You! Hurray!

Something for way down on the 'to do' list... It would be nice if the tree mail and system message icons also showed the number of new messages when the status updates. Kind of like this...

How funny @JamesAcclaims, I have NEVER even noticed that pale blue box! I only take note of new messages when my system messages icon at the top changes color (dark maroon now). Funny how you get in a habit of seeing or doing certain things one way and someone points out a different way!
