Sad I hope that was poorly done teasing.

I thoroughly agree, Sue! Dave has worked very hard on this and most of us are respectful of the changes, even those we don't personally "like." We're with you, Dave! (and Trish)!
Thumbs up

Sue is right about the 4 columns. I have programmed it so that if you have 4 columns, they do not wrap even on a phone. There's a long explanation behind that limitation. If you think you want to use the site on a phone, I'd advise you to use no more than 3 columns per row.

Thanks Dave. I'll change it when I get back to my desktop. And just so you know, you're appreciated for all you're doing Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

I can't speak for everyone, but I LIKE the new changes! I sincerely do! I was a little put off at first because I was used to just logging in and reading/posting, so it caught me off guard (even though we were warned in advance). But I also like a challenge every now and again ... so got the new changes figured out pretty quickly and was surprised how easy it was.

I am sorry some people are not happy with the changes, but I think the majority of members are.

Thanks Dave for being one of the BEST webmaster on the internet! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Yes, I love the changes. 'Rahhhh' Dave Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Importantly, it wasn't me that sounded negative earlier. I don't know how that man got onto my computer. Whistling

Changes and new things are hard for old folks like me. Although I am not used to the new changes and the new layout, I certainly understand that it takes time to make improvements and fine-tuning. So I am glad that Dave is attentive and he is listening to all of our ideas to make it more user friendly. There is a great community on here who will go out of their ways to help and offer solutions to problems. I am glad to be on a forum with very nice and generous sharing folks.

I am totally shocked by the very rude & angry posts that person has made. While they certainly can have their opinion, there was no need for the tone of their posts.

We were given advance notice changes were coming which lots of sites do not do. It was a surprise on logging in the first time but I did not find it offensive to my senses! I thought it looked fine on the home page as it was but really like that I can make it however I want it. Smiling I have not found it to difficult to stuff at all. The only thing I don't really care for is that the threads now sit to the left. Even that is not much of a distraction after a couple days.

Think how many updates we get on all our devices to keep them functioning. As fast as technology changes, I can not even begin to imagine how difficult running a website is!

There was just no need to be mean!

Thats is how I feel. I dont understand the changes, or why they were made. For me, it made nothing better, but I guess I dont use certain features.
What I do appreciate, is that Dave made it work, and was willing to work with us to get some kind of normalcy on our pages.
I would like to know what is so much better, but Im afraid if I ask, it will sound combative. For now, Ill just be happy with having it back to its new normal.

I know about zero as far as technology goes but here is my understanding about why the changes were needed. It is all about what goes on behind the screen so to speak. The coding , how the programs work from the inside...... the guts so to speak. So to try and incorporate what ATP was with all the information that they acquired when they got NGA and keep up with the tech side an overhaul was needed.

I think that is the best, simple way for us non-techies to try to understand it.

What I dont like, are those new bright red things in the thread watcher. I guess its to let you know there is a new post. Well...Im sorry, why the pale pages and the bright red things. It seems everything is backwards. I dont want the first thing I see when I open a garden page to bee little red circle things, I want color and a garden picture. Ugh. I guess I thought I would be more used to it by now. Im really trying tho.

Maybe those red things can be changed to green to go along with the gardening theme of this website.

Dave - I have now changed it to no more than 2 columns per row on my desktop and the iPhone is still overlapping, even when I turn it the other direction. I have rebooted my phone and unloaded and reloaded the program on my desktop. Any other ideas? Thank You!

I checked your dashboard and you still had it setup with 4 columns. The right two columns were empty but they still existed.

I cleared your dashboard for you, added two rows with only 2 columns each and then dragged in the stuff you had set before. So you should be all set now.

Where else can you get this kind of personalized service?? To have it fixed for you without hours of explaining it to someone on the phone, only to be passed onto another person to 'help'...Dave, can you please train some people that work for AT&T and DirecTV??? Rolling on the floor laughing
Just kidding of course, but kudos to @Dave for great customer service during what must be a very challenging week! Thanks for continuing to make changes as suggestions are made; we know you are trying to make it as painless as possible!

Ginny, after Dave posted that, I went in and clicked the » Clear your dashboard and start over. It cleared everything including the columns. I then added back in first 2 columns, then 3, and then 2 and 2 again and that worked out nicely for the items i wanted on my home page.
