I don't much care for the bright red icons in the threads either Pam. I like colors to coordinate. I think a darker blue to go with the lighter blue would look better or even green would be ok.

I think green blobs are already taken by the Ask a Question forum so might not even be an option. The red is definitely an improvement over just the pale blue type.....at least I can see Rudolph in all the snow Whistling Big Grin

How about instead of a red blob have a tiny daylily flower. The roses forum could have a tiny rose, lily forum a tiny lily.......

Hmm, that is a cool idea Sue!!!! Most popular plants have a badge to correspond to the plant...

I wanted to add that if you missed the conversation about my small type/image problem in the Site Talk thread, using the View>Zoom>Zoom In and then checking the Zoom Text Only on Firefox solved the problem. The larger text (I have it zoomed in 3x) also gives an illusion of less white to the page.

I expect it would be too difficult/time-consuming to implement though, I'm guessing it would mean separate coding for each forum that had their own mini-flower. Maybe a mini-NGA logo might work across all the forums. I'm not too keen on the red blob either but I think some kind of blob was necessary to stop the horizontal scrolling (by reducing the number of columns of which "New" was one).

Thumbs up that you fixed your image and text problem, Char.

I have to agree too on this one. The red is too much. But I certainly give to Dave credit for trying to continue to make changes to try and please as many as possible.

Thanks Sue, it really is nice to finally have the text a size I can read comfortably and also see in focus images. My eyes feel so much better.
A mini NGA logo would be cool too. Maybe a suggestion for when things settle a bit and Dave has more time. I was very happy to see the change with the horizontal scrolling, I'd given up on trying to view the Plant ID forum. Now it is fine.
Little by little everything is coming together. With the help and support from Dave and other members we should all be able to get through these changes and have a website that everyone will enjoy visiting.

Heidi I set mine up in my settings. Now when I open a thread it automatically goes to the first unread thread.

In the settings, there's a line that says "Automatically jump to the first unread post in threads?" Answer that as Yes, and you'll automatically go to the unread ones!

I like the red.

I really hate the bright red thingies, is there a way to get rid of those?

I wish instead of bright red it would be a green leaf or a small flower. ?
Is there anyway for users to choose their own background color for the homepage?

@Frillylily you need to ask these questions in the Site Forum, not the Daylily Forum. nodding
