The rainy season has started in earnest here, so any photos I post of my garden roses now will be a testament to their ability to stand up to rain. There's very little color in the garden these days. I'm so glad the cannas and fuchsias are still in bloom because the roses have mostly given up. Here are a few that looked good today.
Cabaret and Calliope.
After spending about 12 years as a compact shrub, Cocktail suddenly decided it wants to be 7 feet tall.
Helen Hayes and Sea Foam never stop blooming.
Violet's Pride

Have a box of Merci in the panty! Perfect reason to crack it open

Funny how the mind works - first thing that came to mind when I read your comment of Cocktail was our daughter. She was also 12 when she decided she wanted to grow up
Your rose of the day is lovely Zuzu. Not one that I seen around here but then I have other similar reddish brown, russet coloured roses like 'Brown Velvet', 'Hot Chocolate', 'Terracotta' which I absolutely adore. Eddy Mitchell sort of tones in with those.

I worked with 'Black Magic' and red 'Freedom' roses today. The Lexington Humane Society is having a fundraiser tomorrow night, the "Beastie Ball". The owner of the venue where I work donated design services (which is me ) and centerpieces for the event. I was able to get flowers donated from a wholesaler for the event, but had to stay away from autumn colors because they're in high demand and more expensive. We decided to go with a goth look, black tablecloths, silver accents like tall candelabras around the ballroom, and the red and black roses. There will also be black leafless trees and black bird cages as centerpieces for several tables, with black ravens in both. We'll top everything off with some cobwebs and spiders.
Tomorrow will be a very big day in my house. Turkey and salmon for all. You can bet that Suzanne is not expecting me to celebrate psoriasis or strokes.
