Tarev, you make my heart sing with the knowledge you are sharing on cold hardiness of what has been considered to be not frost hardy plants. Hurray!

I was doing the math. This ended up far cheaper than the plants I paid $2 each for. There are over 20 plants in this pot. I should have turned it around and took a picture of the other side too! That puts this at less than $1 a plant, and there are some very nice specimen plants in this pot. even some that have babies shooting out of them. Yeah!!

I covered some of my pots with overturned jars--I thought they'd be sheltered enough, but we got some frosts that hit the aloes and some others hard. I sure hope they come back.....sigh.....

Handsome planters Alan...I'm far from an expert but once a month here is often enough. I went nursery looking a few days ago and came home with 10 cactus which I am moving to clays pots next week and then may share some pictures. This thread is fun to read.

Below freezing several nights in a row in early December. Since then it's warmed up, but my plants don't look happy. The potted semps in the same area, however, look fantastic!

Thanks Chris. The picture does not do it justice, it is so much better to see with the naked eye. Now lets hope I do not kill it. =)

Hey! Guess what?? I found my BIG Aeoniums today. They are about the size of a salad or dinner plate, HUGE!! Not sure exactly which variety it is. It looks like Black Rose, but I've never seen Black Rose that big. Does Black Rose get that big? Anyway, there are 4 or 5 of them in a big pot, along with various other succulents. They are probably only standing about 6, maybe 8 inches tall right now. I have a strawberry pot that has been collecting dust for some time now, so thought I would put the Aeoniums in the top of the pot, and the the other succulents that were in the pot, in the strawberry pot pockets on the side. WIll take pictures once I get it all arranged. I'm so excited!! Pictures will come soon!
