I am getting used to these bulbs gradually, started with daffodils, then hyacinths , got a tulip gift, tried to have it rebloom, but I only see one or two leaves before snails devour them Grumbling

Last December, I have tried to force bloom amarylllis, and it went quite well Big Grin So now the new challenge is getting them their needed leafy growth and see if I can have them re-bloom for next spring. I also got some freebie amaryllis bulbs from my aunt this new year, and some are on their leafy growth cycle, with one showing an obvious flowerscape..so hopefully as spring comes a little more, I may see another amaryllis too!

Oh, and there is this temperamental Narcissus Ziva bulbs, out of 4 bulbs I am trying to force bloom, only one succeeded...so who knows how far along this would go or if it will just abort.. Rolling my eyes.

Rita, I want to just camp out in your yard this spring, surrounded by thousands of daffodil blooms... :-)

Joyanna left two of those RES daffs unpicked. I think they were regretting their early blooming when it got colder last week and snowed!

Gorgeous, Rita. I've had to pick mine and bring them in already to avoid freeze burn when temps plunged down into the teens. But there will be more flowers to come and hopefully not weather that is 60 one week and 16 the next. Shrug!
I garden for the pollinators.

Those are truly heavenly 2011 daffodil photos Rita Hurray!

I have a container surprise awhile ago..just saw two plants making themselves known..obviously a bulb....I honestly forgot which one already Big Grin That container had been the dumping ground of some of my sedum cuttings, coz I thought I have removed all the bulbs previously in this container.
Or maybe one of them is the blue hyacinth which I have been looking for Big Grin

Well, that is why I am really looking forward to the daffs blooming again this spring. Plus those picture were hardly all the daffs I have in the yard. There are many other groupings of them. And there were daffs here I planted before those ones shown. Plus I also planted about 200 more new daffs this past fall. So there are lots of daffs here. I really love daffs.

I went outside and took off some of the mulch there were the daffs are coming up to make it easier on them as I had it on really thickly last fall. Didn't take it all off, just some to make it easier for the daffs. I found lots more green shoots under there that should green up more quickly now that the sun is hitting them.

Thanks, I don't do much in moderation so when I planted daffs I planted lots of them. Just like I have lots of other flowers that I have the crazies for. Hilarious!

We can't be the only ones to have daff blooms? Were are pictures from the rest of us here on the forum? Too early for most?

After those RES blooms got snowed on, the rest of my earlier daffs seem to have reconsidered! Rolling on the floor laughing

I have daff folliage showing up all over the garden but not much advancement in the way of more blooms. Still too early and cold I guess. But I bet the daff flowers really don't much like being snowed upon poor things.
