Split corona daffs that I planted two years ago. Didn't like them when they bloomed last year so didn't expect much this year as they look just the same. Rolling my eyes. Tulips in front of them.

Our daffs are just beginning to open....and they are not liking this unseasonal heat one tiny bit! The beautiful doubles outside my kitchen window are almost bent double from it. It's like July here today! I keep telling them....just make it through today ... (I think it's supposed to be a bit cooler after that).

Chelle, I don't like it too hot when the spring bulbs bloom as it makes them blow fast and makes for a shorter bloom season. And I try not to get daffodil doubles because they tend to flop on the ground for me. Not an attractive look!

Tee,, thanks. I do love the way things look with all the very cheerful daffodil blooms. It really does keep getting better and better! Thumbs up

But I need even more daffs in spite of all the ones I have already done. I was so pleased with the 200 Scheepers Long Trumpet mix of daffs I did two years ago that I have already decided on four more of the Scheepers mixes as I know where they will go. So I am thinking 100 each of four mixes, All White Mix, Fragrant Mix, Gold Medal Mix and Rinus Rim Mix to make 400 dafodils. And I know I will not end there. I want about 100 February Gold and who knows what else. Hilarious!

I been planting daffs here each fall for awhile and the place is finially shaping up with lots of early spring color. Wow, it was so very drab before the big push to plant daffs around the garden.

Daffs in front of shrubs that are not even yet leafed out. More daffs there are just coming up and I have lilies in front of the daffs. Then I usually just plant marigolds in front of everything.

This is a shot of the terraces garden near my kitchen door. One terrence in front of the other built into the hill going up. In the summer it is stunning but now looks forlorn with only afew daffs blooming. I plan to add more daffs there and tulips also this fall plus lots of Chionodoxa.

Nanking cherries are blooming today. It just hit me as I was taking pictures today how pretty daffodils would look under and at the foot of these shrubs. I don't know why I never thought of it before!

Thanks! At least the front yard ones are there for all the world to see as you can just walk by my house and stand on the sidewalk to view them.
