Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29

I think you could plant daffodil bulbs and daylilies literally on top of each other and have them both do fine, since they have different periods of active growth & flowering... it's just easier to plant between when you have one thing already established. I don't think you need to worry about the daffs crowding the DLs or vice versa.

I have a little border along the back where I have lots of daffodil clumps but not much else... so I need to plant some things in between this spring before the daffodil foliage disappears! I'm always reluctant to go clomping away with my shovel when I think there's a good chance of chomping through a bulb. Maybe I can spread out some of those daffodil clumps while I'm at it...

Yes, I added some pics to the db. Took more pics today and will add to the db later.

Heuchera 'Root Beer' planted last year.

Shannon, I took another pic of the one you were asking about. Maybe it's Spring Beauty. The second one is cropped of it.

Edited to add.....

Shannon, jmorth corrected me and stated, "Definitely not Spring Beauty; looks like Toothwort to me (Dentaria lacintata)."

I also have Spring Beauty growing here, but that pic isn't it.

The daffs are just about finished here; we're waiting for a few of the later tulips to open. Smiling

Wish I could report the same progress as others here. After weeks of VERY unseasonable heat we have gone back to near normal sub zero (C) temps with predictable results.

Oh no, Brian! Sad What a rotten twist of weather!

I'm so sorry that you lost all of your lovely tree blooms. The others should recover and bloom later, right?

Jo Ann, that daff is fabulous.

I will have to think some more about possibly adding more to that slope. So much to do as far as adding bulbs. IT never seems to end but it does get prettier and prettier!

I will have to look for the tag to ID these. They are from Brent and Beckies two years ago and so pretty.

I didn't realize when I bought them that the flowers would be so small. Shrug! And they are bunch flowering, that is three flowers on one stem. I guess that is good as the flowers are so small. But I think they are very pretty so I guess it is all ok.

Nice daffs. Can't tell what those small blue flowers are though.
