Hi all. I'm flitting around on other computers. Opera today. Deep orchid watering. Snow dusting last night. Took some pics of Slc. Fire Magic 'Nora' but haven't set up a way to post yet. Den bigibbum opened a flower too. One of the two buds blasted. Does that ever happen to yours, Ursula?

Bud blast? Sure, it happens. Perhaps not that much on my bigibbum, but certainly the Den Luz del Dia does it every so often if it sits/hangs in a less than optimal spot. Shifting plants around until I find a happy location for them, helps sometimes.
Enjoy the Don Carlo today, I will see it on Jan 5.
I should have some time today to take the camera about....

Well, I finally have one new pic. I've been waiting for this Oncidium splendidium to open for a month. It was a pass-a-long, so this is the first time I've seen it, myself...Thumb of 2010-12-11/ctcarol/c4c1b1

Nice one!! And I rarely like oncidiums. Gerberara Snow Ballet is such a winner! I'm so glad I have it. Thanks again Carol!

I am using my old laptop in my office now and can upload pics again!

I discovered a nice bloom on my Pescatorea ecuadorana, I moved some plants about and there it was. I didn't get a good plant picture today, but here is the flower in morning sun.

Kathy, Nora and Den tetragonum are really special. They go on the want list.

Ursula, Den tetragonum is elegant. Very nice.

Jim, I wish mine did that so nicely! Smiling

Anyway - I tried to get some decent pictures of the slowly opening spikes on my Laelias autumnalis var atrorubens, my plant has 10 tall and very wiggly spikes. I am watering plant AND spikes daily and they are opening now without a problem.
Here is my first attempt at non-wiggly pics today -

Everyone should grow Tuberolabium quisumbingii just for the wonderful sweet scent alone, it really fills the greenhouse with its strong Marzipan overtones. It is a fairly small plant and not difficult at all to grow.

And - I had to take some more pictures of the Coelia bella, it has never flowered THAT well for me. I am delighted.

Great show!!!!!
That Coelia bella is truly unbelievable!!!!!!!!WOW.
I especially love the Pescatorea ecuadorana (miss my P. wallisii Sad ) and Laelias autumnalis var atrorubens.
A question about the Tuberolabium quisumbingii. Do you leave spent spikes? Mine stay green and I leave them and sometimes I get a bit of rebloom. Does that happen for you?
