Sounds like sun scald to me. The spots will turn white and then as the tissues die they can get mushy and seem to dissolve. Try protecting your plant with a temporary shelter from direct sunshine to see if that stops the development of new spots. Or, take an affected leaf into your cooperative extension office or Master Gardener Clinic for positive diagnosis. Contact Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension, 531 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach - (561) 233-1700. Good luck with your plant.
