I just bought a brand new house with no landscaping. What is the best thing to plant on the west side of the house? I live in Omaha, NE. Thanks

A western exposure usually means afternoon sunshine. Some suggestions for a sunny flower bed include yarrow, Artemesia, Yellow False Indigo, Globe thistle, Purple coneflower, Sea Holly, Gaillardia, creeping Phlox and Sedum. There are lots of other choices. Since you have a brand new yard, you might find the following publication helpful in designing your landscape, preparing the planting beds, and choosing just the right plants: http://www.sustland.umn.edu/im... Hope you find it helpful!
