why did my lawn turn brown when I used feed/weed fertilizer?

If you applied the weed and feed when the temperature was over 80 degrees, or if you over-applied the product, the lawn can be burned. The best remedy is to water, water, water to help flush out the fertilizer. When you apply weed and feed, make sure your lawn is listed as safe to use the product on and then follow the label instructions to a T. You'll find cautions about applying it hot weather and you'll also find recommendations for amounts to apply. More is not better - in fact, it can burn your lawn. Hope your lawn recovers soon!
