| I only have one spot to plant my garden. However, the garden is shaded by the house in the morning. As the day progresses, the shade gradually moves away. Are there plants that require more sun than others? Also, I only have about 8-9 hours of sun total on the entire garden? Is this even enough sun? If so, what plants need the most sun so I can plan my garden accordingly? |
| Most flowering plants and vegetables can get along with 8-9 hours of sunshine per day. In sites that get morning sun and afternoon shade, choose plants with tags marked "partial shade" or "partial sun". In sites that get morning shade and afternoon sun, choose plants for full sun. The afternoon sun is more intense than morning sun so plants that grow best in full sun will be happy there. You will also find plants that are adaptable to most any sun exposure. So, check the plant tags and they will guide you into making the right decisions. Enjoy your new garden. |
