Does anyone have any actual experience with winter hardiness of either Madeline Hill or Arp Rosemary in zone 6? Online info seems mixed.

My random rosemary (don't know the variety) doesn't usually survive the winter here. I keep it going with cuttings over winter, but I'd love to have the herb as perennials.

Madeline Hill, and Alcalde rosemarys are cold hardy but still need some protection. Use mulch and freeze fabric for extra protection during hard freezes.

I recently noticed that High Country Gardens now offers 'Super Arp" which is advertised as being extra cold hardy. Apologies, I have no personal experience with it. I have a mature regular 'Arp' in z7b and give it no special protection in winter, but it's in a somewhat sheltered spot. I wonder if the main challenge in your climate is the addition of prolonged damp feet during the cold weather. Just like lavender, excellent soil drainage is crucial.
