Thread OP
San Diego, California
Hi, I live in southern California and some parts of my lawn has thinned out and other parts I want to add grass but need to know exactly what type of grass I have so it doesn't look patchy. I think these are real common in my area (San Diego) and they spread by stolons it seems. Can someone tell me what type of grass these are? Thanks in advance.

I don't think it is Zoysia; it looks too coarse. There may be more than one type in your picture, including some sedge, perhaps. I hope someone has a positive ID.
