I have had Offbeat for quite a few years and it does really well here. Looks really good this year in a nice clump.

It's 100° here now, heat index 103, and I just can't keep things watered enough. My tomatoes are getting brown, crunchy leaves. They're growing again, after having been mowed down by deer a few weeks ago.

I hope the darn dear keep out and don't munch on them again. 100 degrees is much, much too hot. Sad

I just came inside to take a break and have something cool to drink as I just finished spraying my roses with the systemic fungicide. Have to do that to leep the blackspot away and have nice clean green leaves on the roses. While I was puttering around out there I was watching Robins, Catbirds and Cedar Waxwings eating berries off my front yard Goumi Shrubs. These are in the Rissian Olive Family and pretty shrubs. I have a row of them. Then they bloom in spring and the scent is just wonderful and sweet. The berries are pretty big but oh so sour. I guess they would be good for jellies and jams if your the type of person who makes them. Not me! I just leave those berries for the birds to eat and the birds just love them. So I get my fun as I love to watch those birds.

106 here today. Still 88 degrees at 8:48 pm; this is so abnormal.

I had the sprinkler on in the turkey's area ...they're all still with us, so far. Thumbs up

Daylily blooms of lighter substance are curling up and drying out, but my favorite yellow Noid is doing fine. Lovey dubby Good substance on that one. Big Grin

It was 102° here today. Now, after 9 p.m., it's still 94°! This is downright oppressive. And I just can't water enough.

Some garden shots from today. First my back patio and then the Terraces garden which is a series of plateaus bult into the hill going up. It has lots of daylilies plus some roses, lilies, annuals and whatnot growing there.

Hot here today but I know many of you are much hotter where you are. No garden work for me today or tomorrow either. Just got back from supermarket where I bought stuff I can just throw on the grill. Corn on the cob, baking potatoes, steaks, chicken wings and hamburger. No cooking when it is so hot, keep the heat outside Hilarious!

Me too, Rita.

I grill outdoors. Of course, I grill out just about anytime... occasionally even on *nice* winter days. Hilarious!

Great news! We finally had rain!!! Hurray!

Not so great news...our gazebo is now in a big accordion shape. Thumbs down

Good news...it missed our picture windows by at least a foot. Thumbs up

More good news....the greenhouse is still here! Hurray!

Some large limbs down (on my new iris!! Sad ), but the power's back on...headed out now to do some more damage assessments. Rolling my eyes.

Veronica, (??)

I just load them one at a time.

OK Thanks chelle Ha Ha I said I knew it was simple!!!Somehow I had it in my head I had to hold down on a key. So glad you got some rain. it is really getting bad here I believe the farmers without irrigation and or insurance are in bad trouble...This is pretty much farm country where I live.
On that note I have decided call this group of pictures "My Garden Has Seen Better Days" I got these all taken before it got so hot and dry. Now I have decided I can only water the new perenials I b ought this spring the roses and containers...The perennial bed plants that are established will have to fend for themselves

We've got about two-thirds of the tree litter cleaned up...not sure how we're going to get the broken top down out of the willow tree tho', we can't get a truck in there, that's for sure! Hilarious!

Most of the roofing repairs are finished on the critter houses. I had a time just finding one piece of metal roofing...it was in the woods. Rolling my eyes.

The gazebo is broken up into pieces, ready to cart off...and I have blooms on my new Yellow Baby lilies! Hurray! I'd rather be strolling around with the camera right now, but perhaps I'll get to it a bit later.

Rita, I just love that tiered look in your gardens! It makes an area that's already full of blooms look even fuller! Hurray! Beautiful. Thumbs up

Tam, ....ouch! That is a long time without power...glad tho' that you had no damage. Smiling

Shannon, Group hug sorry that you had no rain with this weather system. Sad Did you get any overnight?

My yard is very mutilevel so I have lots of raised beds and terraced beds. It really allows me to fit many more plants in than I could ever grown in a flat space. It is daylily bloom season here (early this year) and I have a LOT of daylilies.

Tamara, I just hate it when there is no power. I don't know what to do, too used to the computer. nodding
