Oh no Stephanie, you didn't. Blinking
All's well, we are here to support you in any way we can. Big Grin
Would it help you to post photos? Some times putting it all out there can help keep things in perspective.
Or, send others out in a mad rush for Lowes. Hilarious!

I take it that Lowe's isn't the place (best) to get these types of plants?

What about local garden centers?

I'm asking because if I ever take the plunge, I need to know.

Is mail order the only place to get the 'correct' plant?

After skimming over Chris's article on Saturday, I'm thinking there is too much "if ands and buts" to the plants, so I may not get them. The article did kind of scare me off the plants, sorry Chris.

Sorry to scare you Marilyn. They're just like other plants or veggies. Lots of things could happen to them, but do those things always happen? No...they're tough plants and they really are easy to grow.

Lowes and HD are fine places to pick up semps and succulents if you don't mind not always getting a cultivar ID. Since I love tucking them in here and there, I have gotten a great collection this way.

I think the word, Affordability, describes the basic difference between HD, Lowes and nurseries, online or local. Of course there are the factors or small business vs large, existence or length of guarantees, expertise and knowledge inventory, etc. These are translated into $$ usually.

At my Lowes and HD the succulents have little stickers on the pots with lots of info about that plant. I peel them off and put them on my plant tag.
