I don't know. As I read their printed catalog and their website, I got the impression that they send larger bulbs than others. Confused

They do claim larger bulbs than other vendors.

I have been ordering from CB for several years now, I have found that they do send larger bulbs. The first time I ever got bulbs from them, there was a noticeable difference compared to my other online vendors, and bulbs gotten from my local nurseries. I have also always gotten what I've ordered.

Here's an example. The smaller package contains Hyacinths from Van Bloem, the large yellow bag is from CB

Here's SWC from CB against a ruler. I have never gotten other daffodil bulbs this big from other companies.

It's a giant squill😁 I've never heard of or seen it before. I'm excited to see how it's going to do here. The local nursery had their end of season bulbs for 40% off, so I got 3 of them.

I'll try CB again next Fall and hopefully, I'll get all larger bulbs in my order(s) than I got in both my orders in 2013. Thumbs up

I planted 15 (of the 31 that I had left) more of the Citrus Squeeze Mix that I rec. from Longfield Gardens today. There's 16 bulbs left of the 125 that I got. I think the rest are too soft to plant. If we have another day that I can plant, I'll take another look at them. Wished that I actually counted all the bulbs in all the bags that they sent, so I would know for sure the total number of them that I rec.

The Darwin Hybrids in this mix are:

Orange Queen
Oxford
Golden Apeldoorn
Banja Luka
Apeldoorn's Elite

I don't remember if I posted them before. I had ask Longfield the varieties and this is what they told me.

I wasn't going to order any more bulbs but after checking out Brent and Becky's I ended up ordering a 100 daffs for 50--.
Original list had 300 dollars worth, but that was just too many bulbs this late in the season w/ an inch plus of snow on the ground.
I hope to force most of what I'll be getting but will need to put some in the ground when the weather breaks.
I've already got 45 pots of bulbs forcing.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

I hope that everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving!

Today was a great day for planting bulbs, it was in the mid 40's and sunny. I had on several layers, and had to remove some, because I got too hot once I started working.

I'm thrilled to finally have the front garden done. I planted 100 Moris Gudanov tulips in my 2 lawn beds where we used to have Kwanzan Cherry trees. The beds where a hot mess where they ground down the stumps, and left the dirt and debris on top of my pine straw, and buried my bulbs previously planted there.

The last 143 of MG were planted in front of my left rose bed.
80 Parrot tulips were planted in front of my right rose bed, and at either end of the bed that contains my Laurapetalums.

I also potted up some bulbs I'm forcing. I did 4 each of Hyacinth Jan Bos, Carnegie, and Delft Blue. I also did 18 Paperwhite Ziva.

We're getting some warmer weather over the weekend. Hopefully, I can get the rest of the CB bulbs planted, only 300 more to go before the Van Egelen bulbs arrive.

The not so exciting part of today, while I was planting in one of the lawn beds, I dug up a small snake, Eeeeewwwww! I sent it
flying with my bulb dibber. Hopefully, it will go back into hibernation.
