Brett, good to see you, haven't seen much of you in a while. Nice pink, reminds me of Larue Boswell.

Neal, Have you ever cut the ends out of a 5 or 6 gallon pail and sunk it into the ground to keep some of the more invasives from getting out of bounds? Not sure how your plant spreads via roots or seeds, but if it's roots that can hold them back from taking over an area too quickly.

Brett, that pink is a beauty, and I love that the beards appear more coral than orange like so many others.

Tom, that just occurred to me today that I should do that with a pail. They spread by stolons, just under ground, so that would work well. They had nearly gobbled up some Iris clumps and other things, and I kinda lost my mind and just went into a frenzy of digging them out, LOL.

Debra, that royal color is wonderful! That Iris is the perfect garden plant- tough as nails, never fails to bloom like mad, and the foliage is lovely all season. I've got plenty if you'd like some.

Bonnie, that yellow plicata I have bloomed in February when it was in a container. Mary Ann's Zoe's weather barometer says early Spring, so I may have stalks on the containers in February of this year, too. Certainly by March. Big Grin Big Grin

Boy, this thread is moving fast !! Not sure if I am "catching up " correctly, or not, but.....Yes, Deb..that noid #6, IS "Mrs. B", as well!
Pink Opal IS a good guess...but I had Pink Opal bloom this last year...close, but no cigar ! Pink Opal, Pink Satin, and Helen Field Fischer ....all Sass intros....all look VERY similar to one another, probably because they are all "sisters", having the same parent plants.

I got some last summer, so maybe I'll see it up close this spring! Smiling

I hear we are supposed to have another polar air mass moving in her at the end of Jan. Some snow predicted here for tomorrow and again on Sunday, but with temps above freezing it should melt. Then we have the cold moving in and no snow cover! Ugh! Grumbling

I think it is Coral Chalice, Marilyn, and I have a test plant I received last fall so I may have to wait another year to confirm.

Arlyn, more beauties! #15 and 23 look rather modern, both really nice. 23E looks much like some I have that may be all the same or maybe not.

Could your dwarf be Jeweler's Art? No good pics of Jeweler's Art in the database to tell if your standards are too purple. It is an older SDB. I have it, but don't have any bloom pics yet. The Iris Wiki has some shots where the standards are purplish like yours. Can't really tell if the beard is right though.....

Leslie, I do see a lot of similarities, but I do think the standards on this is more purple, and there is a purple band around the falls that doesn't show well in my pic. I think this one has fluffier beards too. I love how both combine jewel tones.

Wow! A lot happened while I was at work. Lol

Neal, I have Ninebark and I love it. I wanted something different for a new bed I'm starting this Spring. A dwarf Weigela would look nice with a Crape Myrtle and Iries.
