I have several similar pink ones, Ursula, but not this beauty. I will have to keep an eye out for it.

You guys have some gorgeous orchids blooming right now! I just had to 'catch up' reading lots of pages of posts, so can't comment specifically, but DANG! they are all so beautiful! Green Grin!

I've been gone for a few weeks cause my life has been so hectic...my Grandma fell & broke her hip (she's gonna be 98 next month!) and I've been trying to deal with that long-distance. I'll be going to see her in Oklahoma for a week from Halloween till Nov. 7th. And I was trying to get ready for my first-ever Festival as a vendor!

On that note...(in a shameless display of self-promotion)....if anyone lives close-by or within traveling distance of the 26th annual Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival, I will be there again this coming weekend harking my glass balls and orchid baskets, and would LOVE to see/meet you! It's a FUN Festival even without my presence! Hilarious! I've been going for 20 years!

Here's a quick preview:

Thank You! Thanks Ursula, I started making them for myself and SO many people loved them I started making them to sell!

Lets be honest...orchids are pretty boring plants unless they are in bloom, so this dresses 'em up! They look really pretty hanging all over my yard too, and the ones with glass sparkle in the sunlight. I use a wide variety of glass, marble, porcelain, onyx, and all sorts of stones (serpentine, aventurine, new jade, jasper, turquise, etc...) to make them.

Prices range from $15 to $45 for the baskets, depending on size and items used to make the hangers....If there's something you particularly like, I could always ship it to you (since even this great Festival isn't worth a trip from NJ! Rolling on the floor laughing )!

@Janene, a new ATP member posted into a very old thread a question to @bree, let me repeat her question here

Unfortunately I am not able to do a copy and paste of her post, so here is the link
http://garden.org/thread/view_...

Now I haven't seen Bree in ages, hopefully she sees this and responds.

How about starting at Carter and Holmes? Pretty sure it was one of their introductions (if I remember correctly, Owen was Mr. Carter, Sr.) or they would certainly know who introduced it if it wasn't them. Most of the Mendenhalls are their intros also.

I find their website difficult to navigate but a phone call might yield some info.

Thanks, Lindsey! You should come to the Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival this weekend, it's great fun (and then I could meet you!).

That bloom is GORGEOUS!!! I love pastel-y colored flowers!

Sorry, can't help with Janene's question, but I've not found the Carter & Holmes website hard to navigate (and I'm usually pretty challenged in that area. LOL!)

New in bloom this week for me is this nice little cluster of B. Little Stars. I mounted it on cork, but it really sulked all last spring and summer, so I am really pleased to see it blooming. Looking forward to the lovely perfume we will have this evening.

Also my Spathoglottis have stopped sulking after I divided and re-potted them this spring. They'll possibly bloom all winter if i keep them warm enough.

Nice stuff Elaine! The fragrance from B. Little Stars is one of my favorites...and I love, love , LOVE that pinky/ yellow spathaglottis...where did you get it?
I had so much fun taking pictures today while everyone was working hard at setting up the Tampa Orchid Expo. The opportunity to have the plants all to myself and take all the time in the world was just so incredible! Tomorrow I am working as a clerk for one of the Judges and expect my brain will explode from all I learn! It was also really cool to walk the vendors area while they were setting up and get to shop early... I found many plants that are on my wish list and will be bringing the check book tomorrow morning ( early before the gates open!) On the way to my car was one last vendor that I hadn't seen earlier and I spotted my favorite plant in the universe ..calling to me...I bought that and took it home with me. Blc. Copper Queen !
