16F and no snow .. looks to be a good day on the rise .. cold, but not the kind of cold that's hiding around the corner .. the "I wanna suck the breath outta ya" kinda cold .. usually reserved for Christmas Day and NY Eve Blinking

Time to put up the tree ..

ENjoy your day

It is rip-the-air-out-of-your-lungs cold (for here anyway). It is 41F with a feels like of 31F outside. Still a strong, constant freezing wind and 75% humidity. The historic average of this day is 77F/54F. Our high today is only 50F. If it's gonna feel like 31F outside, there could at at least be snow to make it pretty.

Can't wait for the sun to come back out on Sunday.

We're supposed to get back our 70s by Sunday and it looks like we're good until Wednesday night when we get knocked back down to a low of 44F and a high in the 50s on Thursday for the initial blast.

Are you gonna get a break and warm up a little between the polar blasts, Ken?

18 currently. We'll warm up in a few days to the 40s before dropping down to the 20s again. As long as we get snow I don't care. Hilarious!

We are much better this morning, woke up to 52F. That nasty cold and very windy conditions of the past couple of days done for now. There maybe chances of rain, as is typical of our December weather transitioning from Fall to Winter.

I do have a lot of cleanup to do..later it will be leaf vacuum/mulch mode.

And now we are enveloped in tule fog..the more the sun tries to show up, the thicker it goes.

It is 12F, the predicted high of the day, bright cloudy but not as windy as it has been.

Just noticed it is comfortably warm outside, at 64F and 70% humidity. Sun peeking in and out. Quite a nice change from our past few days of brisk, windy, chilly conditions.

High of 30 and mostly cloudy today. Currently 26. Tomorrow will be mid 30s and we'll probably be shedding off layers as the day goes on. Today I was wishing I had on a couple more and a thicker pair of gloves. Spent several hours outside.

I remember tule fog Tarev, it could get really bad driving down I5 through the central valley.

It rained last night/early this morning and again tonight. The humidity was way up today, it says it is 88% right now and it just started raining again. The temp is 78° right now with a high of 87°f earlier. It's 8pm. It is not supposed to rain in December, this is against the weather laws, I'm sure I saw a decree from Chac Mool the God of Rain that this was not supposed to happen!! I almost hit myself in the face this morning when the kitchen door stuck as I tried to open it. I thought it had dried out for the winter and I was already used to it opening easily. sigh

I'm really happy that the city came and hauled away that memory foam mattress today BEFORE the rain. They had told us to just put it outside in front of the house and they would come get it. It was there for a couple hours before I left to go and buy a new mattress. I kept thinking what a mess it would be if it rained and the thing filled with water. I was really happy to see dry sidewalks and no mattress when I got home. Pretty nice service from the city, just call and they come by and pick up whatever you leave out front.

Leapin' lizards it is pouring rain and has been for hours. We've pumped the pool and pond down twice but it is pointless now as the dry well is full. The street is flooded, we've got sandbags inside the door and the water is still coming in. The stupid weather site is still saying 'cold front'. Thunder and lightning and monsoon rain. None of this is supposed to happen during the 'dry season'. I am cold, mainly because I'm wet but the temp is 74*f. I finally just got in bed under a bunch of blankets and I'm hoping the power stays on. The lightening is pretty and tomorrow is another day- guess I'll be mopping.

Wow, Jonna. That's a lot of water y'all are having to deal with. It is now 22 F here, Marilynne. Starkville is approximately 1200 miles due south of you.

Wow, Jonna! I hope everything's okay Group hug That is a lot of water coming down. I was watching the radar this morning--it looks like it'll finally start to clear up for you around 2pm.

We start our warm up today! Hurray! Goodbye polar blast, whatever your name was!

Ken, it looks like this next one is going to push more your way, so look out. They've changed our forecasts and we're not really supposed to be inundated with cold this time--only supposed to get
Down to the high 50s.

The paper today says we got 100 millimeters in 4 hours last night. That's almost 4 inches, 3.937.
http://yucatan.com.mx/merida/c...

It all drained away by this morning but it just started raining again so hopefully there is not a repeat. Luckily the first part of our entry hall is higher than the rest of the house so we put the sandbags across it and it has so far (knocking on wood) kept the flooding rains from coming in any farther. We also had a drain dug across the garage entrance and a lot of the water goes down that. Still, things were floating around in the garage last night.

They are called aguaceros here which my dictionary translates to 'downpour', that it certainly was. I'd say from my experience that an aguacero is more like a monsoon than a downpour because they usually last longer. whatever, it was a lot of rain in a short amount of time.

The cold has arrived here as it is barely 32 here right now. The forecast for the week shows cold temps and many changes for rain or snow or a mix of both. Yuck. Winter has arrived and I hate it.
