Around 35 or so for high today and cloudy. No hint of the sun at all. Had some snow early this afternoon but not enough to accumulate anywhere. Felt it coming though!! Hilarious!

It has been so overcast here and we went out shopping earlier in Concord, there we met alternately rain, more rain and fog. I told my hubby we better head back in case we finally get more rain at home. Thankfully it is part dry already. But I know there were thick rains clouds hovering, our turn for more rains tonight maybe. It has warmed up nicely too, thanks to the rains.

Jonna, earlier we saw your city, Merida, featured in the show The Voyager with Josh Garcia, such a lovely city you have there! Too bad about your current rains though! It reminds me of the intense monsoon rains Manila got years ago, way beyond expected like 18 inches of rain in a 22-hour period. So much flooding happened then. Hope you don't get a repeat!

Marilynne, so do you plug your cars too like we did before in Winnipeg. We used to plug our car when our temps start falling to minus 15C (5F).

I had to Google search "plug your car in winter". I had no idea that this was a thing. Smart idea. I always wonder how certain things even function below certain temperatures.

It's 2F here at the moment, and, yes Tarev .. the car and trucks are plugged in as there is a north wind blowing driving the temps below zero ..
I always know its gotten cold when the woodstove won't keep up and the furnace comes on as well ..
Plugging avehicle in just keeps the engine bloc warm, and it starts better .. always a crap shoot if you don't plug in .

Tree up day today ..

44 and it looks like the skies are going to open up any second. But checking radar shows it all either East of me or West of me in Colorado.

58F this morning. The Sun is peeping out. Dew point is 58F so humidity is at 100% and it's foggy out. Calm SW wind of 4mph. Yes, I said SW wind! Hurray! Can't wait for it to be 75F later! Thumbs up

Send some of the southerly flow up my way, James. It is still darn chilly here. I need to mount a couple of staghorns on cypress knee but all I've done is collect the knees and put them in a greenhouse. I may wait till noon to go back out. My old bones just can't take the cold like they used to. Sad

It's only 82°f with the humidity down to 69% but it is lovely today. I was laying in the sun out on the roof reading my book this morning. No rain so far, white puffy clouds and warm breezes.

People are all arguing about how much rain we got in how long the other day. There are folks who have rain gauges and say that they were filled up at over 5". IDK, I have to just go by the official count as I don't have any idea how it all works. I'm just glad the water went down, I don't have to water anything for a few days and the sun is out. Hurray!

Snow, mainly before 2 pm. SE wind around 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Marilynne,
They have a long plaintive song when they first come back in May, and also one that sounds to me like, ''I LIKE your perfume.'' They are beautiful!! Much brighter than a robin.

Jonna,
I love it too that birds migrate!
Yikes! That is a lot of rain to contend with! Sandbagging too. Obviously you keep them on hand tho.

James,
I got the picture of the wind and cold!

Got up to 75F today, as forecast. It was a beautiful day! Sun came out, so we took advantage and spent a few hours out at the beach, soaking it all in. It's currently 70F out with a nice calming southern breeze. Low tonight of 66F.

We were at 25F most of the day and had a light, gentle snowfall for most of the day as well... only amounted to an inch or so (and we had none on the ground before that), but I think this batch will be hanging around for a while now. So, along with trying to get the Christmas decorations put up (finished the tree today, still have some things to hang on the wall and such), I've been busily covering all of the windows with "shrink film." That stuff makes a huge difference in the way our house feels in the really cold weather (despite the fact that all of our windows are relatively new), and also prevents condensation on the glass -- which was actually starting to ruin our wooden window frames. Plus, it's incredibly clear and pretty close to invisible. And then we had chili and fresh homemade bread for supper... a perfect meal for a winter day. All topped off by the Packers beating Seattle. Good morning, all! I'm going to pretend that I'm okay with it being Monday already.

66F here currently. Hit the dew point again and it has put us in a Dense Fog Advisory until 10am. The wind has shifted back from a northerly direction. High of 72F today.

Marilynne, feel free to share pics when you get back from Christmas grooming. I love seeing pics of puppers anytime. Thumbs up

16 degrees outside currently and even with the sun shining it feels like it. Supposed to get into the mid 30s today before we have a polar plunge again starting tomorrow.
