Jonna, I guess they might as well use it, we tell everyone we spent our children's inheritance when we bought that and the truck. Rolling on the floor laughing They have always been responsible. When they first started driving and we were talking with other folks about driving and their kids and insurance, they all said "oh, they get one chance to mess up". I said "ours are on their ONLY chance...........they mess up and they are toast. They will be paying their own insurance." As long as they lived at home and helped on the farm, they got their insurance paid for and their gas for their vehicles. They all knew they had a good deal and no way in hell they were going to jeapordize that cash cow. Rolling on the floor laughing

Yup. Only a couple of vehicle-related tickets. One for DS#1............excessive noise. LOL 16 year old boys and their cars. The other one was my fault.........vehicle registration came and I forgot to give it to DS#3. He got a ticket for not current stickers, and saw that it had not been sent in. I found out about it from DS#1..........I told #3 that it was MY fault he got the ticket, and I couldn't, in good conscience, make HIM pay for it, so I anted up for it. He did have to pay for the registration, tho. Green Grin!

Mine flipped two...not one..but two...cars.

School and fulltime job and a girlfriend living 3 hours away = sleep upright with eyes open..but brain off.

He lived to marry her. I thank God flips were middle of the night and no other cars involved.

He is now 39 and a responsible father of two and a pretty good husband..dad..cook and housekeeper.

I had my doubts and many a time thought that there must be something wrong with me to create a creature with such poor judgement.

A true story....he got a lot of tickets. Misc stuff including speeding.

I spoke to a lawyer..I was afraid that we would get sued if he damaged property or worse. He was a college student...were we liable??? Not sure what he had ticket wise. He was driving our car sometimes ( his was a heap ) to go back and forth to college at times.

The laywer said he would look into it....."check my son out."

He called. The boy had a lot of speeding tickets.. I wept..I wept a lot...
I told the lawyer that I was sure I birthed a bad seed.. It could only get worse. (I was the mom that cried in the principles office when my son backed up the school toilet when he flushed a kids hat doen the commode and so I knew early on that Inwas raisig a sociopath)

The lawyer said.:

"NO ..no...don't cry...look ...you ought to see MY son... Rotten through and through..no remorse.. YOUR son seems to have three lawyers...all local.. ..he THINKS none of the lawyers is aware of the others. I spoke to all three and they are very much aware of his connections with all of them. Clearly, he is too embarrassed to fess up to any one of them that he is a serial speeder. His auto insurance is through the roof but it is current. One lawyer told me recently your son sent him a check for $4 and change toward his bill. All his lawyers say he is paying them something every month.... I assure you...your son has all the markings of a responsible adult."

Now..I had to think about that....hard...... But..that being what it was.... I had to take it and chose to believe him. He was correct. It could have gone the other way.

On Friday morning Tony and I will go to the dental clinic in Santa Rosalia, 35 miles north. They will probably prescribe antibiotics and have me return. If anything else I will probably leave and plan to go to Ca. and see my dentist there. The joys of summer in Mulege. In the winter we have an American dentist who volunteers and people get, for free, that which would run into the thousands in the USA. I did give him a papaya tree.

There is a bird - I think a sparrow - who keeps banging up against the French doors in my bedroom. I don't know if it's the same one who did the same thing last summer but it's strange. Lots of bird food around and all this bird does is fly up against my door.

I'm washing bottle and making plans for a large kitchen window. Not doing much due to more pain than usual and lots of heat and humidity. Accident-prone stuff.

Sugar the Puppy is growing and very much being a puppy - if there's something to get into and make a mess she is there. However, Inky Dink is really ahppy to have a playmate; except when she needs to be reassured that she still comes first.

Back to playing with my tape measure. Not trying to cut anything, just measure and see if it's the same tomorrow.

I personally think the FDA is absolutely out of their collective minds. In my experience, and I know my 42 years are but a drop in the ocean, those that flossed regularly had healthier mouths. Those that flossed when they were in their teens had significantly less cavities than those that didn't floss, and this was the time when caries were still rampant in the teen and early adult population. Fluorides have eliminated a lot of caries, but for those tens of millions without proper fluoridation, both natural and added, caries is just as bad as ever.

Thanks Dawg!

I can't believe what I'm reading on that link! Insane! So they base all this on the fact that it's not "proven" but I say it isn't DISproven either. NUTS!

Thanks for that info Dr Dawg. Much as I do not enjoy flossing I do it but was wandering if I could stop. Whistling Many years ago a dentist made me sit thru a little film about flossing so I started then. Wasn't a real exciting film ! Hilarious!

Yes, Anna, caries are "high-speak" for cavities. Sorry, somewhere in the dark recesses of my brain, a dentist still lives. Whistling
