Does Wintry Sky ever have little flecks of color in the falls. This is the first time bloom here.

No, I noticed that on yours, but wasn't sure if it might be weather or cultural or? I don't think it's Chance of Showers. Looking at all my pictures over the past few years, there's a consistent blue wash over part of the falls. Alpenview is the other one I was trying to think of..

My first thought was also Wintry Sky as well, but the NOID has ruffled edges. My second thought was maybe a Blyth iris.

How bout Brussels;

And it is a very beautiful Iris.

Blessings

John, I just found this thread and when I saw your 2nd noid photo Raspberry Blush was the first thing that came to my mind! Such a beautiful little thing!

Barbara, is your "possibly Red Canyon Sunset" the one I sent you?

No, it was from Snowpeak. *Blush* but one of the ones you sent me has a stalk on it. Hurray!

I need to get Brussels, just because it's so beautiful. Thank you John.
Sherry, I wonder if the sprinklers could have caused the spots? I'll have to pay attention to the other blooms.

I live in town. Metal gets stolen. The lawn mower goes over plastic T shaped markers. I hate metal as I mow everything at the end of the season. Paint pens are iffy. This year it is non-shiny plastic and pencil.

Whatever marker Neal used on old blinds, it held up.

Neal, what are you using on old blinds, of which I will have many as soon as my new cellular shades arrive!

I use pencil on old vinyl blinds. It seems to hold up quite well. The only downside is I have to brush off the mud and dirt from sprinklers or rain to see what the name is.

It was just a sharpie, which if exposed to sun fades quickly. But I do keep them mostly buried, both because I don't like seeing them and to preserve the writing. They do get brittle though, so this year I'll buy metal markers from the club. They sell them cheap, and I think they'll be easy to hide from view.

Barbara, I'm so glad "probably Red Canyon Sunset" is going to bloom! Its pretty unique, I've not run across another similar enough to make me doubt yet.

Thanks, Sherry. I have so many living in pots that I need to get planted out!
Somewhere I have CK as an identified iris, so when it blooms, I'll post a photo.
Wouldn't it be setting buds now as well, though? Dunno.

There are quite a few reverse amoena flowers now. That is the color pattern of the Wintry Sky look alikes.

I saw a post here a bit ago about the 'Sharpie' markers. Has anyone tried their 'EXTREME' markers? I used those on plastic 'T' markers when I put in my Rose of Sharon and some Hibiscus a few weeks ago and so far they're holding up. Of course it's only been a few weeks.
