Mark, that site is one of the best out there for showing pics of the semps and related. Have you seen their page for "unusual" semps? It's worth a look!
The large single one Is a spinousum from Mesa Gardens. The smaller one with the bloom spikes is from seed I got from a rock garden seed exchange. It just said Orostachys sp.
Mark, Nice pics. How big are the rosettes in the first pic It's difficult to tell when you don't know the species.
Chris, I'm glad that's doing so well for you. Mine grow and reproduce much more slowly here in this climate. The O. spinosa you sent me last year (or was it Lynn) did not survive our winter but all the others seem to be OK. I'm going to try to get some pics of my Oro's in the morning, and get them uploaded here as soon as I can. I still can't id some of them by name, but they all look somewhat different.
I got this as a tiny piece years ago and I finally have a few pots. I grew this from seed two years ago. It was labeled O. chanetii This came from Arrowhead Alpines as O. spinosa ex. Halda
Here is Orostachy spinosus Semipalatinsk, Kazachstan that I got from Arrowhead Alpines two years ago. It was doing great until the slugs ate it overnight during this winter. I didn't even know I had slugs in the bed until then. I have a photo of it growing in the bed, just can't find it.
Lynn, sorry about the loss. Mine disappeared too, but I could see it slowly dying and could not stop the process. It wasn't overnight, but was relatively quick.
