Flowering for the first time this season. COOL RUNNINGS.
This is a lovely big bloom which I manage to snap it off 20 seconds later. There should be a prize for stupidity. I think I can win it.

Others blooming.

They all look so healthy Glen. You must have the growing medium, fertiliser, water and light/shade just right.

Good thing you didn't snap it off before you took the pic, or worse, b4 the bud opened. Easily done when u pull off leaves, or weed. Even watering. Bad when it is one you haven't ever seen bloom like seedlings or newbies. I am nervous around the ones I am trying to identify. I only had MARCIA FAY out today but buds everywhere. So good to have some Earlys, and some Lates. But best will be my red cabbages.

Glen-- so glad Kaspar is home now. Cool Runnings is not running cool, that daylily is hot! Great colors and ruffles! Tiny pumpkin and Dalriada look good and I really like the coloring of Rose Helena!

Bron-- I just love the coloring of Kelly's Girl and Marcia Fay. It is so rare here to have that color of daylilies! The sun and heat would have them blooming pale peach. Good job!

May your gardens be blessed!

I have one other seedling for which I am waiting to open completely as the sun warms it more. So, watch this space. Actually, the space will be further down but no matter.

Would you believe it? The wind broke off one of the sepals of the seedling. So there is an early morning shot of the whole and a later one with the sepal stuck back on the left.

This plant is from a gift of seed the year before last from James @JWWC
This is the first time flowering.

Bron and Glen - Gorgeous blooms! You both sure have some great stories to tell. I, like others here, can't imagine the kind of wildlife you have strolling through your gardens (and occasionally doing some damage). Sounds pretty awesome to me!

I have wildlife that does some damage occasionally, but I manage to come up with ways to foil them. It's a constant challenge that keeps me on my toes! Never boring being a gardener!!! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Glen - Glad your kitty is home and doing well. He looks pretty happy to be home and seems to be wanting to stay real close to you. Apparently he missed you as much as you missed him. Lovey dubby

I put my glasses on and went and checked, Donald. There are only four stamens!

Did you notice the Lynx Spider, Oxyopes, partially hiding in the flower on the left below? My bees are feeding them.

The wind today destroyed a bloom on my MAGNIFICENT HUMMINGBIRD. One more bud on it. But not like the frightening winds around Haiti and Florida. Hope Becky and others are OK.

I did have damage to my backyard garden areas, but none to the house. No daylilies were harmed except by me cleaning up the debris. Sticking tongue out

I think that might mean that the first bloom is atypical for what it will be in the future. I look forward to seeing some later blooms. I find the differences interesting.

I saw the spider, but I didn't recognize it as a spider. I hope it's eating more unwelcome insects than the bees. Lurking spiders are really efficient at collecting a meal. I managed to raise only a single Black Swallowtail caterpillar this year due to a spider taking up residence in the Fennel. I saw him with other meals too. And the fennel looked really nice not being eaten down, so there was that.

So glad to see Kaspar home and looking so pretty. It's interesting to read about all the "critters" and insects that you must contend with at your home. I guess we must just garden on regardless, although I could live without moles, gophers, fire ants, grasshoppers, rabbits, and all the diseases, viruses, and fungi (is that right?)
